the clarksman
is one of the most magnificent thing i’ve ever seen!
I also enjoy the failsman but I’d pay good money to have a real life clarksman trophy in my house (only because I know I could never do anything awesome enough to warrant being awarded one)

I was playing beer pong at some random school
and when I made the game winning shot I gave them a fist pump.

beer pong
is an acceptable use of the fist pump. Very Penn State. I still remember owning the table from 6 am on the beach during the Blue Angels “home show” in Pensacola. I was the man that day. So much so that by the time the Blue Angels started their show I didn’t care, and by the time they finished it I was no longer coherent or completely conscious. Such are the perils of having a good beer pong run.

wow, beer pong on the beach
impressive having such a long run, as isn’t there usually wind at the beach?

Pryor
The dirty little secret is that if Pryor and OSU win the Big Ten he might get a shot at it. The media likes the Buckeyes. It may not be fair but that’s the way it is.
My prediction …. Tim Tebow

I think he has to do more than win the big ten.
Beating USC and tearing apart PSU are essentially requirements, then after that he’s going to need someone like Oklahoma State to win the Big XII and Tebow to also fall off the wagon somehow.
Not to mention that kind of BYU might also be a wildcard if they can knock off some of the BCS opponents on their schedule (of course I mean that in the longest of shots way).

Really
It’s a statement of the lack of depth in the heisman discussion this upcoming season (at this point in the offseason, i mean). It has to be rare that 3 players who garnered so many votes the previous season come back.
In the discussion of heisman “sleepers” the media just plugs in a backwards looking formula. Perennial contender, hyped up players with lots of media exposure. That all leads to a perceived safe “sleeper” bet on Pryor. But there are no true safe sleeper bets, and the media doesn’t have the courage to pick someone who would truly surprise us.
If there were some way of predicting, they wouldn’t be sleepers, and we wouldn’t be talking about how half the players in NY in December are such surprises when compared with the previous summer.

That second paragraph is right on, it’s pretty funny how unoriginal they get even in their non-binding “surprise” discussions. And through that lens it’s pretty easy to see plug Pryor in their like you’re saying.
I just think the top three guys are so locked in that it would take some type of incredible shake-up to allow anyone else in that bloc.

Wouldn't it be neat if...
Pryor were to pull a “Reverse Archie Griffin” and wins a second straight Failsman?

I think I might do a reverse awards show while the actual awards are being released. Thanks for the idea.

I like that idea
A yearly Failsman awards. It doesn’t have to be limited to one player though. It would be awesome to laugh at who completely sucked in college football during the year.

That's the point of having nominees...
;)

I meant
you could give out more than one, or personalize them category wise, not just nominate a few people for one award.

Oh
I’m certainly planning on having more than one award. Could have made that more clear earlier.

How about a new actual Heisman trophy:
