QB #14 will coach high school ball
http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/sports/highschool/s_634724.html
Former Penn State and Penn Hills standout quarterback #14 --ed will be the Plum quarterbacks coach. Morelli passed for 5,371 career yards — 10th all-time in the WPIAL.
Well, I, as I'm sure many of you do, wish him well and hope that he can produce starting quarterbacks for some high class collegiate program... depending on how well he does, maybe Penn State, but more likely Pitt.
Even so, I don't really feel bad for him... he's got a great job... oh. And this:
That is all.

Hey
1] I consider myself to be a pretty decent writer, but to frame an acceptable written description of that woman’s breasts is beyond my skill. Frankly, that woman simply has one of the most amazing bodies I have ever seen. They should have sent a poet.
2] That kid gets railed on, daily, on about ten different Penn State football blogs. We’ve all got in our head that this somehow matters. Seriously, see #1 above, he couldn’t friggin’ care less. I’ve actually written vehiment defenses on his behalf, which I now consider to be a total waste of my time.
3] For whatever reason, everybody, includinf his old High School football coach seems to hate him. But see #1 above. The kid just keeps truckin’ on. You’ve got to admire that.
4] That’s the girl Anthony Morelli gets. Next time we’re recruiting a quarterback, simply explain to him the life Anthony friggin’ Morelli got. It’s hard to imagine anybody who had a worse experience playing quarterback for Penn State. It still turned out okay. Leads me to believe the future of the program is sound.
Basicly, in the case of internet mob versus Morelli, it seems pretty clear to me that Morelli has won. I’m pretty glad for that.

The actual caption of the photo read
“Anthony and I went out to a pumpkin patch in State College. We needed to find the perfect pumpkin to carve for Halloween.”
I think that will definitely lose the caption contest.
Why is he standing in front of a goat?
Great question. And if the answer is : we were looking for the perfect pumpkin, then I’ve got a few more questions:
1. Do goats eat pumpkins?
2. If not, or if so, what the hell are all those bones in the goat pen?
3. Why are there no pumpkins to be seen and why is he standing in front of a goat?

to be fair, i started a thread a while back on the fanshots that was only positive things about Morelli. I can’t find it now but it’s out there.
"We hugged as grown men do. It was a great moment. Then, it was business as usual." -- LJ Sr.
I like to compare Morelli to Pat Burrell (for you Phils fans out there)
They were both highly touted and highly talented. They were both expected to be saviors. Both had decent careers for their teams but didn’t live up to the hype. People relentlessly bash/bashed them. Neither caused any ruckus off field.
If you objectively looked at their career numbers, they were far from the worst things to happen to their squads, both above average and scattered aroun team record books. Just couldn’t match the fan’s dreams for them. Think about it, if Pat was a 6th round pick and Morelli had 3 stars, they would be looked at much more favorably.
At least Pat got a WS ring, at least Morelli got 2 bowl wins.
I harbor no ill will to either guy. If anything, I dislike that the coaches were not willing to try and use Clark more in situations he would have excelled at and Morelli did not.
Black Shoes. Basic Blues. No Name. All Game.
"Everyone has a plan, until they get punched in the mouth."
Burrell
A lot of the issues with Burrell came from the fact that early in his career (basically up untill last year) the dude would be out until 5am boozing it up…making moves on chicks…(Burrell tried to do something with a lady who informed him she was unable for nature reasons…he says…you have a mouth…)
Although the Man or Machine shirts they made for him were funny…the photo was better..

I agree
I never had anything against Morelli – he kept his nose clean while in school and he graduated, but he didn’t live up to the enormous hype that was placed on him. I blame the coaches some for not replacing him at times with Clark, but that wasn’t his fault. The one thing I can think of that did bother me about him was his pouting when we lost or he played poorly. Also, the arguing with Michigan fans. Otherwise, a decent football player whose time is over. Now it’s Clark’s turn to shine.

Most of the criticisms of Morelli are probably unfair for the reasons you mentioned
Although he gave us two years of frustration and banging heads against the wall, he’s one of the all time leading passes in PSU history. And I forgive him for those two years, mainly because it’s over now, and he’s gone, and we also came to realize that his struggles were not Jay’s fault (which is another positive in my book, despite being kind of a negative for him.
However, there is one criticism above all else that is probably the most valid: leadership. In that respect, he was a downright utter failure. The guy is made the captain of the football team, then is shielded from the press after games by the coaches. He could have probably gained a few more sympathy fans had he answered press conf. questions and admitted where he struggled and where he needed to improve upon for the next game. But that’s not what he did. Part of that was probably the coaches, yes, but how do you expect to earn the respect, admiration and confidence of your teammates if you’re going to sulk and hide yourself from criticism. He may not have been the most polished, smartest (and I don’t mean that as an insult, but as the ability to think clearly on field), or most physically gifted QB (aside from the arm), but I feel like we could have won a few more of those games if he was able to rally his teammates beside him and instill confidence in the people around him.
Yes he had
Great passing numbers, because he had the keys to an amazing machine. Look at the o-line and WRs. How many games did he lose with a great squad because he failed to step up with the game on the line? Illinois comes immediately to mind. OSU 2 pick sixes. People had the MSU debate recently, so I won’t rehash it, but a pattern is developing here.
