PSU Wrestling Scores Yet Again
Gimme a State Champ and a Siren Whoooooooo!!!
Cael Sanderson snared another Pa. State Champ this week in West Mifflin's Sam Sherlock. Sherlock, another stud in the Class of 2010, took the AAA class title at 125 lbs. last winter as a junior, and was ranked #6 nationally. He recently competed with a Pa. All-Star team in the Disney Duals, and merely went 15-0, barely sweeping the field.
If it seems like you're reading this same story every week, it's only because you are. Sherlock makes the fourth State Champ to choose PSU from Pa.'s 2010 HellaClass, joining Coudersport's Mr. Country Dirk Cowburn, and Central Mountain's carnivores twins Dylan and Andrew Alton.
Additional background info on Sherlock here:

It's very probable you'll be seeing another edition of this story in the next few weeks. No matter how many times it repeats itself, it sure doesn't get old.
Welcome, Sam!

Nice
…although on the my heart jumped a bit when I saw the siren on the front page! Too bad it was for a different sport…but this is still great news.

Hell - me too.
I came back to BSD, saw the siren and thought “Sweet – what happened”? Then I saw the title and realized I’d just fan-posted it, and someone had front-paged it..
Sorry for the confusion.

No worries
Good news is good news regardless of the sport.

They're making it
pretty easy to do. I haven’t heard anything from RossWb over at bhgp lately, but it’s becoming clear the juggernaut is beginning to take shape.

Eh
Basketball’s a sport I actually enjoy and understand. Wrestling….not so much.

Yes
But before last year I didn’t care at all about Penn State basketball.
(Which reminds me: much thanks to some BSD members for inspiring me to look back at some of the history of the program. Jesse Arnelle was pretty good.)

Quite correct.
How many actually knew anything about Womens V-Ball before the last few years?
We ‘accidentally’ discovered them when we wandered into Rec Hall during a Home Game Weekend around ’95, and were transfixed by the sight of Waaay Hot PSU Ladies kicking the living snot out of some hapless opponent. Hooked ever since.
Us BSD’ers are becoming an extremely well-rounded bunch of groupies freaks fans. No matter the sport, we have a few folks that can ’splain things to us.
Aren’t we all just swell?

The best part is
that while the summer months of off-season are still brutal, it makes post-regular season, then post-bowl season a lot more tolerable.

Wasn't Jesse Arnelle
An All American in Football and Basketball? OR at least really good at football and a B-ball all american?

Maybe the position of the siren is a visual indicator?

I like it. But what about fencing?
by NittanySeaLion on Jul 25, 2009 11:15 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Yeah I know
The problem is I added it after bumping it from the fanpost. For some reason the fanpost editor doesn’t give me the easy center justify button like the regular post editor does. I made a few attempts to center it, but ultimately gave up. So yeah, FAIL.

"it sure doesn't get old."
ain’t that the truth.
If you’ve never had a chance to watch wrestling at PSU, do yourself a favor and check it out. I didn’t always understand the nuances of exactly what was going on, but it sure was awesome.
