KFC Shirt Update - Thanks BSD

Well kiddies, thanks for all your help.  My design, Stand with the Colonel, won second place (no word on which loser beat me yet) in the KFC Chari-T shirt contest.

I appreciate all the support and votes and hope that you remember poor little Beer League Designs for your next graphic design or logo project.  We're now award winning... sort of.

I am now celebrating my years worth of chicken - which I hope comes in a giant truck - and our #1 party school ranking with a syrupy sweet bottle of Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea Vodka with Bourbon.  Half a 1/5th down, half to go...  I'm not sure I like it yet, but what goes better with vodka than bourbon?

That sweet tea vodka is good stuff

I prefer the firefly sweet tea vodka…mix with equal parts lemonade and you’ve got an awesome Aaahnold Paaahlmer.

So i guess i decided

it was more important for “pour” and “drink” to agree with the parentheses than with was was outside of the parentheses.

oops.

See, I'll type something stupid...

…then I’ll go back and read it and realize what I did wrong, but I don’t believe I’ve ever actually flagellated myself to the degree that you did there… certainly not in print, anyway.

Tastes pretty much like

Turkey Hill Iced Tea. Better keep that stuff out of the house.

About......16 years ago.......

I noticed I could only drink a couple screwdrivers……..and that more than a couple bloody marries made my face blotchy……I also don’t really care for Cranberry juice so I told the bartender to give me some iced tea with vodka. Its one of the only things I drink besides beer and rumpleminze. Apparently its called an Ice Pick. Delicious.

Uncle Jemima's Pure Mash Liquor

Do you like drinkin’? Well, if you’re like me, you like to get bit just as fast as possible. That’s why I’m proud to introduce, to you, Uncle Jemimah’s Pure Mash Liquor.

Oh do I like drinkin...

I’m doing the KY bourbon trail in august to visit a bunch of the distilleries. I’ve seen Uncle J’s but never taken the plunge… now the gauntlet has been thrown down and I must accept the challenge. I imagine it is best as a punch fortifier and that straight shots would just melt you throat.

Sounds like an awesome trip

I’ve done some cool booze tours (Glenlivet, Jamesons, Guinness, Heineken), but never been through Kentucky, and I sure do enjoy me some brown liquors. Hope to see some pics posted later this summer.

btw, not sure about the whole ‘KY bourbon trail.’ Is that akin to Anal Wiscy?

Is an awesome trip

I did it back in April for my birthday… Seven distilleries in three days. (there are eight on the tour now)

I highly recommend scheduling the ‘hardhat’ tour at Buffalo Trace- all you need to do is call them at least a few days in advance and let them know you don’t mind a little climbing.

Word to the wise- unless you really want some kind of commemorative bottle that’s for sale at a distillery, you’re better off hitting a Wal-Mart liquor store to get your souvenirs. Also, make sure you get your ‘passport’ at your first stop and get it stamped everywhere you go so you can get your kickass free T-shirt.

We were thinking of skipping Buffalo Trace...

since we only have two days before we head through to VA. I’ll have to reconsider though – what do they let you do, climb up in the barrel barn or something?

Up to the top of the still

If you’re thinking of skipping any, Maker’s Mark is really out of the way, and by far the most touristy. Wild Turkey was a disappointment for me- I thought it would be my favorite going in. Jim Beam is kind of a waste until they get their new visitor center done, too.

Four Roses was neat because of the fact that I didn’t know much about them going in, and it was a decent tour with three samples given at the end. Woodford Reserve was the only one that charged admission, but it was still pretty neat (it’s the only Bourbon distillery that uses pot stills, and they were just cool to see). We got to Heaven Hill late and missed the last regular tour, but we got a mini-tour from their director of guest relations (a very nice Scottish lady) and they had the best tasting experience of any distillery on the Trail. Buffalo Trace was my favorite, mostly because I got there at eight on Friday morning and had a one-on-one tour with an incredibly smart gentleman named Freddy… I didn’t even get to go on the hardhat tour when I was there, but if there’s one distillery that I want to see again, it’s that one.

Damn! We didn't know about the hard hat tour.

On an epic baseball trip last summer we stopped down at Buffalo Trace on a whim and did their regular tour. It was still great, a warm sunny day causing the bourbon to just ooze out of the aging barrels, I can smell it now.

What was on the hardhat tour? Did you get to check out the actual distillery? Our quicker tour was just of the aging and bottling house.

Yeah, you get to see the distillery

It’s actually just a more in-depth type of the ‘full’ tours like you get a lot of other places.
