We Are Penn State Magazine Locations
I've been getting a lot of emails from people wondering when and where they can purchase We Are Penn State on newsstands if they don't want to buy it online. I asked the publisher to give me a list of locations, and this is what they told me.
If you live in Pennsylvania you should be able to walk into just about any grocery store, drug store, chain store, or major book store and find it on the magazine rack. Here is the list of stores they gave me.
-- Acme
-- Walgreen's
-- CVS
-- Rite Aid
-- Target
-- Kmart
-- Walmart
-- Costco
-- Barnes & Noble
-- Borders
-- Genuardi Family Markets
-- Sam's Club
-- Giant Eagle
-- Giant
-- Weis
-- Wegman's
If you live in a neighboring state like New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, New York, or Ohio, you're probably better off sticking to the major book chains like Borders and Barnes & Noble.
Outside of that footprint, you're probably stuck ordering your copy online if you want it.
I hope this helps. If I get any further information I'll pass it along.

Should have added
The magazine hits newsstands on July 21st. So don’t bother store hopping before then because you won’t find it.

Just received a friendly e-mail
yesterday telling me that my copy shipped.
Hope it gets here before the 21st so I can act all important and superior.

What, no WAWA?
That’s where I do all my grocery shopping.

man, I miss Wawa
especially the late night, drunken sandwich runs. And I’m not a big iced tea fan, but their half gallons were perfect to carry around on a hot day.

It drives me nuts when people say Sheetz is better than Wawa...
Wawa hoagies are the best…late night or during normal business hours…
Sheetz…ugh

Wawa does have better hoagies but...
…Sheetz gets a nod for their customizable breakfast sandwiches at all times of the day.
The Sheetz in Chambersburg was the number one Sheetz when I was at Shippensburg, but I am still loyal to Wawa!
BTW, can’t wait to sink into this magazine guys. I’ll post a review up on Examiner.com when I get it.

technically it was 4 comments
since the third comment was a legitimate inquiry as to the availability of the magazine in the store.
I don’t care where it is available, as long as it is available in my mailbox when I get home today.

Swing by the WAWA in Williamsburg
most evenings around 1:15 or so and you’ll typically see anywhere from 2-10 police cars.
Why you ask? Violent gang crime? Drug Deals? Free Donuts?
No, its when the Irish Dancers from Busch Gardens stagger in drunk from a night of spending their hard earned amusement park dollars at the bars. It is quite a show and the cops love to collect in the back and watch the whole thing unravel as they sip a fresh hot WAWA coffee.

I often get Wayne and Devon confused, but yeah, Wayne is where my hate begins, mostly because of the snooty douchebags who show up at places like the Great American Pub.

Wawa is using the Sheetz model for expansion
No stores in places where land is valuable, hence none near me in Alexandria, Va., but some PG County, Md. and PW County, Va.
Actually, that doesn’t explain the Harrisburg thing at all. BSD’s point lower on the page does though.

less than cover price since now someone wrote all over it.

VA Beach too
I can’t tell you how hopeful I got when I saw “edsall road wawa” show up on my referring links one day. I was so hoping the gas station/convenience store going up by I-395 on Edsall was going to be a Wawa, but sadly it turned out to be a Shell.
I’ll give PA that it has good convenience stores. And Penn State.

other than that, whenever i head back south to nova on 95, i believe its exit 76A for the last WAWA. just fyi.
side story-i sent wawa an email pleading for their involvement in arlington. they kindly told me to f$%k off, they know what they are doing.

Delaware County, PA must have by far the highest concentration of Wawas in the world
You literally could drive around aimlessly and still find a wawa within 10 minutes.
by dawsonPSU10 on Jul 9, 2009 6:37 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
That's because that's where WAWA, PA is!
It’s a town. Granted, a teeny tiny one that doesn’t even show up on maps. Home of Wawa Dairy farms. I grew up a mile from there. I’ve been going to Wawa my entire life (until I moved to State College, and then TX)
by PSUWifey on Jul 9, 2009 9:00 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I didn't know it was a town, but I do know their corporate HQ is 15 minutes from me
And whoever starts a Wawa in State College is going to make a fortune, half the population of students knows and loves it. I’ve always wondered why no one’s tried it.

There used to be a gentleman's
agreement amongst the 3 PA quikie-mart kingpins. Sheetz stayed in their western zone, Unimart owned the middle and WAWA ruled the east. That has gone to hell in the last 10-15 years. Sheetz is hanging out in the outskirts, but unimart still owns downtown state college. You never know when the barbarians will storm the gates though.
