BSD on the Joe Bendel Show
For those of you who missed my appearance on the Joe Bendel show last week you can listen to the Podcast here. Stay tuned for the last question where I pretty much ruin any chance of ever being asked back on the Joe Bendel show.

And for the record...
In true blogger fashion I was sitting in my underwear during the interview…and that’s no lie.

That last question still blows my mind.
The underwear thing, not so much.

My Zug
That last question was total bullshit, but kudos on handling it like a rational human being Mike, even if you’re blacklisted on that show now.
How is Daryll Clark going challenge PRYOR? Jesus, he already did last year and came out the victor. Pryor’s a true soph who left quite a bit to be desired last season despite being hailed as the next Vince Young and savior of Big Ten QBs. Zug dammit, I can’t wait for November…

Vince Young’s first throw last night was an INT

Well, I guess they meant 'College Vince Young'
when they said Pryor would be the next one in his shoes.

By the way, since I didn't watch the game
Was Collins starting, or was Young? I know it’s a pre-season game and means jack, but just curious whether they’re going to give the reigns back to KColl this season or not.

Collins is the starter without question.

I loved how....
I think it was the first series when Posluszny almost picked Kerry Collins. He got a great tip on it, just couldn’t bring it in, and he was so pissed, he had this violent reaction to the miss. LOL. I was like “it’s Preseason man, relax”.
The whole thing reminded me of some mythical Alumni Blue/White game. It was awesome. Can’t wait for the season to start…..College season, that is. I can’t get excited about the NFL season until College is underway.

i miss all of last year? i don’t watch a lot of NFL games and certainly the Bills never make local broadcasts unless they’re playing the dolphins, not that i’m sitting thru that suckfest anytime, ever.. but when did Poz start getting hairstyle tips from AJ Hawk?

Did you notice how I asked him to rephrase the question to make sure I was hearing him correctly? I was in utter disbelief.

I did notice
That’s what I meant. That “Oh jeeze” to start off your response made me crack up because I know I would have been struggling to hold back from laughing in the guy’s face when he asked a question like that. Asking him to clarify the question just in case he accidentally switched Pryor being the B10 offensive player of the year with Clark was equally as hilarious. I was also in total disbelief and I had already heard about this exchange days ago without hearing the podcast until today.

Seriously...
I can’t believe he said DC had to “give challenge” to Pryor… give challenge? what challenge We don’t consider mediocrity challenging… Pryor, can you challenge DC? We’ll see in the next couple months~

nice job mike
of tossing idiotic question back at him..
If Pryor was at Penn State, he’d be riding the pine or being used ala how MRob got on the field until Clark graduated, can anybody argue against this?

Pryor looked pretty good when OSU used him as a receiver…

I dunno
I think that most of his exposure to Pryor has been from the National Media, and he likely hasn’t actually watched him play (much). If the only thing’s you ever heard about Pryor came from ESPN, you too would probably ask a similar question. And then after Mike’s response, Bendel even says something like, “yeah, he is really good/had a really good year, being 1 point from possibly taking his team to the National Championship game” in regards to Pryor, so not too much riling up there.
by The JuggerNitt on Aug 10, 2009 4:22 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I liked how you handled that last question
what I don’t get is when he says Pryor was 1 point of a national championship? I’m guessing he’s talking about the Penn State game, where his team lost to a Daryll Clark led team, but if you throw that stat out there you could throw out the stat of Clark losing on a last second FG to Iowa, dashing our NC hopes (or the other close games in the Big12). And he seemed to forget the blowout at USC that the Buckeyes had, which ruined their title hopes. I do like Pryor, but jeez, no need to put him on a pedistool for putting his shoes on

Pedistool?
I was going to say something more, but I’ll let the photoshoppers’ imaginations run wild with this one…

I thought that comment was about DC.
I think he was kind of back-pedaling and admitting that Clark did have a better year last year.

by Elihu on Aug 10, 2009 4:09 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Yeah, I think that was about the last second loss to Iowa
He wanted to end on DC17, but it sounded like he wasn’t expecting Mike to pull a reverse on what he said, so he tried to pull it all back in at the end with “last second loss ending what was probably a MNC run as his first year as a starter”. He definitely was not talking about Pryor.

Bendel Interview
Way to go Mike!! 90% of life is who frames the conversation. Bendel wanted to frame it with Pryor as the pace setter, but you properly turned the tables by noting that it is Pryor who needs to live up to Clark.
by kjac100 on Aug 10, 2009 5:31 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
The "one-point" comment
was about Clark, Bendel was back-pedaling. But you handled the question well, you weren’t obnoxious about answering it an correctly pointed out Clark had a better season. I don’t see any reason why you wouldn’t be able to interview on the show again.

Bendel Interview
Pryor didn’t even make All BigTen 2nd team last year. It was Clark first team and Juice Williams 2nd team. Bendel’s an @ass. I’m glad you put him in his place.

it really does
continue to amaze me that Pryor is assumed to have made an enormous jump just because he’s a buckeye. I’m sure he’ll be good, but let’s wait until he’s a JR and can play an entire bowl game at QB before we get too excited.
