Penn State is Internationally Renowned!
My boss, who lives and works on the Canuck side of the Niagara Falls area, sent me a link to an article he found. We're getting international press!

I'm going to be a buzzkill
And say that I have a hard time believing Penn State is really the #1 party school. I don’t know everything that goes into the rankings, but there are schools in places like California and Florida whose sole existence is for people to party.

You're not a buzzkill
It’s a stupid and utterly pointless “ranking” of schools. I don’t know whether the Princeton Review uses it as a publicity stunt, or if they’re trying to question the image and legitimacy of a school’s education system based solely on their drinking and partying habits, but the ranking is complete bullshit, IMO. I mean we’ve been in the top 5 for years in this same thing, they’re probably just cycling through all of the schools at some point.
I said it before when this was originally posted, I hate rankings like this because I think it attracts the wrong kind of people. Not that people can’t party and get a good education, but this sort of thing attracts people who only want to be wasted, and care nothing about the university even if they claim to be a “die-hard fan”. By “die-hard fan” they mean drink till they pass out or vomit in the stands of Beaver Stadiium, or before they even get to the stadium, and then spending game day at Mt. Nittany for alcohol poisoning, which is apparently “the cool thing to do”. But again, not that you can’t drink heavily and be a good student or a credit to your university and honor it and it’s traditions every day.

again, I'm not too worried
those people tend to either weed themselves out, or get themselves into shape after the first couple semesters.
And you are pretty much right about them just cycling through the top big schools (the more people you have, the more parties/drinking there will be…I am pretty confident that there are plenty of small colleges out there that have a higher per capita drinking rate). The party scene from one 40k+ school is pretty much the same as any other.

Yep, and again you're right about weeding themselves out
Like I’ve said before, I’ve just been around too many drunken assholes in high school who somehow got into Main campus and are still there, and to me, and obviously things can change, but from what I’ve formed an opinion on from them, they don’t hold the values and traditions of PSU in such high regard as I do.

Yeah there are a few dbags and one stripper
from my two previous high schools who got into Penn State and I have no clue how. Though the stripper is now on a reality tv show so I don’t know if she goes here anymore. She’s Brianna “Frost” (her real last name is Hogan, but she goes by first and middle now apparently) on the Girls of Hedsor Hall.
