And another one bites the dust: Michigan LB to transfer
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4395508
Add another transfer to the list of Michigan "deserters". Linebacker Marell Evans has decided to transfer elsewhere.
"I've had three defensive coordinators in three years and I like the coaches but I'm not sure I fit this system," Evans said. "The coaches didn't understand but I have to do what's best for my future."
While normally that would be a huge scar on the already battered and bruised list of transfers, suspensions, and a pseudo drug dealer, it doesn't sound like it's entirely the coaching staff's fault this time:
"I have nothing against [head coach] Rich Rodriguez or Michigan," Evans said. "It's a great place to play. Just not for me right now."
RIttenberg also brings to attention yet another player looking to "do what's best for his future" by leaving Michigan:
Junior defensive tackle Vince Helmuth was also looking at options to transfer from the program.

Michigan fans keep saying all is well...
But behind closed doors they must really be like…

"I've had three defensive coordinators in three years"
so transferring and getting a fourth will be best for him?

Let's be fair-
If he goes to another D-1A school with an established defensive program, he’ll get a year on their practice squad, then a year of actual playing time. It’s a crapshoot, and some people would probably argue that the devil you know is better and all that, but I can see some logic in bailing from a program that’s in a constant state of transition.

Sounds familiar
This reminds me of when Ed DeChellis took over. For the first few years we couldn’t convince anyone to stick with the program.
So I guess we can expect Michigan to take seven years to gain respectability back. And then that will only mean winning the Motor City Bowl.

We should be so lucky...
as to see that happen.
Regardless of the hit the Big Televen may take for one of its former big boys to do that, it would be so worth it.
They can come back and play after their timeout and hopefully they’ve learned to play nice with others.

The only difference being
that scUM football comes from a winning tradition, unlike PSU Basketball, but luckily for us things are looking up for the future.

"It was an attrition football game and you know we like that."
his reason of "I've had 3 defensive coordinators in 3 years"
sounds pretty much exactly like it is the fault of the coaching staff (granted more of a casualty of having a new coaching staff).
