If the Pac-10 is throwing their #2 team in it with a 3 million pay-out, doesn't it make sense for us to dump one of the Orlando bowls and throw our #3 at this game?

Wonder if that's the end of the Big Ten in San Antonio

I can’t imagine that they will give up the Big XII tie in. Even Penn State didn’t travel great for that game, I can’t imagine that anybody else does either.

It's early and I didn't even tie that together

Good point about the Big XII, Jesse. Thoughts on us basically doing a trade with the Alamo Bowl for the Holiday Bowl?

That it's warmer and more expensive

Without the Pac 10 tie in, who would we play. The Mountain West Champion, if even that? Ehh. I like the Holiday Bowl with a good tie in, but it seems like the good tie in just took our spot at the Alamo.

Would the Holiday Bowl even want the Big Ten #4? I doubt it.

The Alamo Bowl was a great trip for the Big Ten #4, it would be tough to replace that.

agreed

that is one of the few bowls I think has enormous potential for a good matchup, if we lose that we’ll struggle to find a comparable bowl for a long time. NW at Missouri last year was a fantastic game, as was our own matchup with the aggies. It’s too bad we don’t play the B12 more often, I think it’s a much more interesting matchup than a west-coast team.

That NW alamo bowl was so frustrating

They really should have won that game, simply for the fact that ESPN kept cutting to Chase Daniels parents every five seconds when for the last ten minutes of the game because his mom and sister were crying that he might lose a game.

Figures

I moved to Texas a year ago and now the Big Ten is pulling out of the tie in with the one bowl game in easy driving distance. I hope they land a Cotton Bowl deal. Dallas is just a few hours north.
