In 2007 he predicted 11 wins. In 2008 he predicted 11 wings. In 2009 he's got them going to the NC game. He is serious, shameless, and obviously has access to some very good drugs.

The best thing is

ND will probably make a bowl game secondary to a crappy schedule (I know, kettle and pot), and get absolutely creamed. That will be entertaining anyway.

Lou Holtz should get a trophy for his consistently awesome and accurate predictions.

Success without honor is an unseasoned dish; it will satisfy your hunger, but it won't taste good.

I thought

a dozen wings was pretty much standard.

They need to get rid of all the crazy old men at ESPN..

but I guess.. they can’t get Herbie to do it all

Poor Herbie

I hope they don’t break him at ESPN, he seems like a good, rational, fairly unbiased human being (for an ESPN analyst anyway)

I mean seriously, between Mark May, Lou Holtz, and Lee Corso, they might as well just hire a cast of monkeys to screech and fling their own poo around. It would probably be more entertaining and a more professional work environment for Kirk.

I like Corso

Sure he’s an idiot, but you must admit some of his antics are funny and you can actually tell he has a good time. I think he’s like the loveable uncle that everyone laughs at. He knows his schtick, and he knows that putting on the away team’s mascot is always good entertainment.

I think he’s just fine playing the dopey old guy, I get mad when he switches to “ok, now I know I’ve been putting on a schtick here for the last hour, but now I’m serious Lee. I was a coach, and I know what I’m talking about. Ohio State is going to win this game tonight, because they are the better team. Now please excuse me while I put on the Buckeye mascot head.”

Lou cracks me up....

He’ s always said crazy things, I remember him talking up the service academy’s before ND was about play them as if they were some national powerhouse.

Be fair to Lou

The service academies were national powerhouses when Lou was last cognizant of the world around him.

Mike and Mike this morning

The ND hype train has reached full speed. Mike Golic (who played for ND, and who’s son is currently playing for ND) just so happens to have formed the unbiased and independent opinion that Notre Dame is going to beat USC AND GET 11 WINS!!!! And whoever the guest host was said there’s a “quiet confidence” about the ND fans. He also noted that while Lou “always predicts Notre Dame to win 10 games, this year he’s serious.”

They really believe the same team that couldn’t beat Syracuse last year at home on Senior day has somehow become a team that is going to beat USC and compete for a NC title.
