I loved this kid.

He was abused every Saturday. He was battered so much that by the end of his career he didn’t have much of a left arm remaining. He couldn’t get routine catches from his wide receivers (I’m looking at you, Tony Johnson). Despite this, no one could question his effort. This dude was a fighter.

When can I go home?

He had me at 300

The kid was a gamer. Securing Joe’s 300th victory will always give him a special place in my heart.

He was the QB for Joe passing Bear Bryant. 300 was in the 1998 season against Bowling Green. I know because it was my freshman year and I left early.

It is an interesting contrast to compare Mills and Morelli.

We all look back with admiration at Mills, but try to forget the games in which Morelli led the team for the most part. But I am sure Morelli had better W-L record and passing stats. Mills just had the leadership that you want from a QB even if it didn’t mean we won many games. We are spoiled now with a great leader and talented QB, hopefully this will continue in years to come.

Morelli had better season stats

Buts Mills is our all time Passing yardage leader and all time total offense leader if I am not mistaken.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn’t he coaching at like Altoona HS or something now?
Maybe he eventually comes back as a coach? I think he would get a heroes welcome. He just seemed like one of those loveable players.
