Apologies if this has been posted already. Great article. There really is nothing in the world like Penn State.

Agreed, thanks for the tip
I mighta skipped it otherwise, and missed out.
"The fact that we all played for Penn State and for Joe Paterno, in my mind, makes us all brothers. My time on this team is among the most meaningful things I’ve ever done in my life. We are all better men for having played for Joe Paterno and these coaches."
"For me the game wasn’t grounded in reality. It was about the uniform you put on that turned you into a warrior. It was about the mythology of the battle, the victory, the defeat, the struggle." - Mike Reid, PSU '69
I know he was speeking to athletic alums, etc.
but I always believed this but more from the fan’s perspective. We’re all a part of Penn State, which makes up brothers, and sisters, and being a part of the legacy, no matter how small your individual role is at PSU, will always be remembered as some of the most meaningfule things we’ve done here as students and fans.
Wow...
5 tours in Afghanistan and Iraq and the guy is still with us. Truly amazing story. How can we get a movie deal on this?
One man doing the work of 100's for the good of 1000's
is this a first?

No
There were two before. I think the first was the original “Gradulations” video and the second was “Afroman is pimping Pennsylvania” (“I met a girl in Altoona, she was All Tuna!”).
DO YOU HAVE PRIDE, DANNY?

I casually knew Rick and talked to him several times when I was in School… He was a frequent flyer at the ’Skeller and was actually consider an "auxiliary bouncer". He wasn’t on the payroll but never had a problem throwing drunken imbeciles out of the bar… He was, probably still is, a really nice guy, very cool and collected. Kind of mild and soft spoken but you could tell he has a crazy streak in him too and he liked to drink himself… The stories he had were redicules… He has dozens of scars like 3 inches long on his arms from having to prop the barrel of his rifle while firing and swimming at the same time… crazy shit this guy went thru…
WOW. Get this on the front page, now.
For anyone who says Joe should step down, please read this and then go away forever.
