WHITE OUT GAMEDAY
Heres the info that is getting passed around, wanted to get it on here too..
""Every weekend you turn on Gameday and you see a bunch of excited SEC fans going wild and holding up signs. It's cool, but nobody ever makes a statement. WE ARE the #1 student section in the nation and it is time to change the culture of the College Gameday atmosphere. So here is what YOU can do:
1. Wear WHITE
2. DONT make a sign, bring a plain white poster. If you can't bring a poster, or dont want to buy one, the Gameday crew always gives out posters at the show. DONT put anything on them. Imagine what schools will see when they turn on the show...a huge whiteout, and all of the signs say the same thing..WHITE..we're the best, we've got the best team, and we dont need a poster to show it. If we pull this off, it'll be sweet. Bring your friends, bring your voices...WE ARE... """

Classic...typical PSU!
I love the idea. It is just like our jerseys and tradition. Simple but effective.
WE ARE.......PENN STATE!
I don't like it.
We haven’t beaten Iowa while wearing white uniforms since 1999.
My gawd, this series is making me superstitious.
DO YOU HAVE PRIDE, DANNY?
... We're not wearing our white jersey at Beaver Stadium are we?
I haven’t heard anything of the sort…
Would like to see it
But this would require major organization. Article in the collegian, station at gameday with people standing around spreading the word to everyone arriving. Also, we would need to block any tOSU signs to mitigate the potential impact they would have if you could see them.
I have foreseen it.

I really hope you guys aren’t going to try to challenge Zug’s supremacy on here now with Laura Nichols.
Could get ugly.

tell the 8,0000 students to vote for Clark too
Clark is only 11th with 386 votes so far.
I love this idea but
you just know other fan bases are going to make fun of it. Something in the vain of us being too country/so uncivilized that we didn’t know what to do with posters when they were given to us. That said, WHO CARES, this idea rocks.
who cares
they will make fun of it then try to duplicate it
We need one sign in the middle of the sea of white boards that says “All of your whiteouts are belong to us”

We still need a few of the BSD Slogans to filter in.

GameDay
The tweet was referring to the White Out of ESPN College GameDay … Guido obviously knows it’s a full White House for the game itself, since he presumably made those videos advertising it

The posters should be all white with a blue line down the middle

So long as it's just a blue line
and doesn’t have a name across it that makes it look like a cross.

Dumb Idea
Sorry, but the only way that this would look really great is if just everyone in attendance followed suit, which you know just isn’t going to happen. There are going to be PSU fans who won’t get the message, and there are always visitors from other schools who just won’t care. In the end, half will have writing on them, half won’t, and it will look really, REALLY stupid.
Great idea in theory, but bound to fail.
i thought the same thing
about the stadium white out, i.e. someone will show up in a blue jersey or orange hunting gear.
no, the message got out and everyone bought in (visiting fans for the other teams excused).
it could happen. show faith.

Revised Gameday Whiteout Theory
How about this…since people will inevitably show up with signs that they feel are witty and hilarious, and these people may be understandably pissed at missing the chance to show the nation their creativity, what if we just had the white signs at the beginning of Gameday, then after a minute or two everyone could flip their signs over to show the messages??? Maybe I’ll make this into a fanpost and see what everyone thinks.
Great idea in theory, but bound to fail.
I don’t think so. This has gone viral and is very widespread. The students who are energized enough to get there before 10am know about it and will participate. And there’s probably not going to be a ton of Iowa fans in the area given the 8pm kickoff. The big issue is going to be the people who feel they are witty and just have to get their “funny” signs out there; hopefully, at least those people will leave the reverse blank and keep the white side up most of the time.
Honestly, if we can get virtually the whole stadium to wear white — and that includes the blue hairs who largely aren’t “into” the game in terms of doing anything to participate — I have full confidence this can and will happen. I’m expecting at least 80% participation and the few non-white signs won’t mar the event.
I'm Ready! ! !

I like this idea, but I tend to agree that people will screw this up.
So, to stay on the safe side, I will be getting two white posters, and in the middle, in case I need an actual sign, will be:

The Wazzou fans are in on it too and have said they’ll use a white WSU flag over the more typical crimson one. So, while it won’t be explicitly blank, it should blend in more to the theme.
There's a Jimmy Buffett conference in DC this week?

What would everyone think.....
…if Penn State wore white? Especially if they warmed up in the home blues, then changed before running out the tunnel, or changed at halftime. Not saying it would, could, or should happen, but I’m curious how everyone on here and in the stadium would react. Personally I would defecate the perverbial brick.
"Sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand."
1) They'd have to inform the away team
2) Joe would never do that.
3) Personally, I really don’t care about the white out, so I can’t really voice an opinion here.

by ReadingRambler on Sep 24, 2009 7:09 PM EDT up reply actions
Yeah, I know it would never happen (didn’t the NCAA almost sue UCLA and Cal or USC the other year because they wanted to both wear home unis to their rivalry game like they used to?).
I just got to thinking about the famous game played by Notre Dame when they changed into their green unis at halftime and came out and stomped USC (green unis haven’t worked much since). I think it would be a nice show of fan-team uni ty (see what I did there?).
"Sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand."
It was UCLA and USC
and all they did was force USC to lose a time out in each half. That’ll show em’. And to top it off, Rick Neuheisel burned a time out at the beginning of each half to be fair to USC. So essentially no punishment.
