Bacon is almost as great as being a Penn Stater
Johnson-Koulianos and Bulaga are big losses for them.
Nonetheless,

Iowa could be missing 5 starters on each side of the ball
and it wouldn’t add up to the talent missing between Lee and Bowman.
And having the Zug out is just incalculable.
Just keep repeating to yourself...
“Iowa is slow. Iowa is white. Iowa is untalented. Iowa doesn’t have a chance.”

I don't think they don't have a chance
But I don’t think, if our defense plays as it has, and our offense can pass AND run, that they can compete. That is three assumptions, and I expect 2 at best to happen.
My point is simply that Baluga is the only player on their roster (and maybe that HUGE DE – I reserve judgment for a few more games) that pretend to approach Lee and Bowman in worth.
Tyler Sash is really, really good.
Adrian Clayborn and Christian Ballard can run and tackle extremely well.
Tony Moeaki is an excellent target for a quarterback who’s out of rhythm.
Amari Spievey is the best corner in the Big Ten.
Iowa is a HELL of a lot more talented than you may think.

Clayborn is for real, Ballard strikes me as solid
BUT, Ballard has made several VERY stupid plays this season, and one mental mistake against us could kill them. I prefer playing a good athlete that is stupid to a mediocre athlete that is smart. (If I could think of the two AWFUL plays from Zona, I’d tell you, but they’re slipping my mind).
Sash is okay, most of his love has come from tips and bad passes – I haven’t seen him come out of nowhere to make a crazy pick on a decent pass, though.
Moeaki is hurt so regularly I can’t take him seriously. An Iowa friend of mine describes him as “the glass man.”
Spievey is pretty good, but on 3-4 receivers, he’s simply not going to affect things on his own. Throw in Sash, they look better. But I still can’t believe those two are superior to our receivers/TEs.
All said, I’m not underestimating their talent, but I don’t think they can remotely overwhelm us with it. And my original point was just that Lee and Bowman are better than anything they’ve got, and losing just one player like that can change a game.

For reasoned and articulate.

Sash hits like a freight train (just ask the one poor bastard from South Carolina), Spievey is the real deal, and EPIC GREENWOOD is not as EPIC BAD as he was. It’s going to be tough to throw on anyone but the other corner.

I'm going to break the new rules:
SHIT. And this time it’s justifiable, and I’m saying far worse things in my head.

You're a rebel, Dawson
Good luck avoiding the banhammer. If you can’t, it’s been good knowing you.

I know. I'm out of control. They might as well lock me up or ban me now.
Of course if that’s bad, I don’t know what this is:

He learned that from the Herwigs
When they broke the droid barrier and hired Rambler to wait tables one summer. I’ll join you in rolling the badword dice here Dawson, and point out that the Herwig’s are some of the more progressive Austrians in the State College area.

"This city is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions."
“What do you mean, “biblical”?"
“What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Mayor, real wrath of God type stuff.”
“Exactly.”

“Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes…”
“The dead rising from the grave!”

Bowman Is Playing
ESPN is reporting that Bowman practiced yesterday and will play on Saturday even though he is listed at Possible in the injury report.
Hull said he looked good and was able to change directions with ease.
Also on Centre Daily they said that Lee’s father said that he saw him yesterday and that there was no swelling and that he was moving around fine.

I especially liked this Hull quote about Lee:
“They might have to chain him to the bench,” Hull said. “His status is still in the air right now. … He did not practice [Monday] and we’ll leave it at that.”

You aren't by chance
related to Jeannette and, by extension, to Terrelle Cryor are you?
