Sean Lee listed as Day to Day
Sean Lee suffered a sprained left knee in Penn State's 31-6 win over Temple on Saturday, and his availability for practice is day-to-day, Penn State assistant athletic director for communications Jeff Nelson wrote in an e-mail.
Lee, who was recognized by the Big Ten Sunday as the conference's defensive player of the week, recorded a game-high 12 tackles in the Nittany Lion win. The senior captain left Saturday's game in the fourth quarter and was not made available to reporters after the game.

Actually, I have no idea.

Well... he might not be able to practice for a while
but assuming that the injury doesn’t linger he’ll probably be able to play on Thursday.
So... do we *risk* playing him this week if he can "play" thursday,
or is the risk such that we could lose him for a lot longer otherwise?
I'd assume he'll play
Though I’ve never had a sprained knee, I don’t think that it would lead to structural damage
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they throw a brace on him...
Sean Lee for 10 tackles is better than Bani Gbadyu for 7.
"Sprain"
A “sprain” in the knee, if it’s referring to a ligament, is in fact a partial tear. When they say something is “torn,” that means it’s completely severed.
That sounds bad for Lee, but it isn’t necessarily. Some “partial tears” are really minimal and people can recover quickly and play on it.
It’s not so much of a pain issue as a stability issue. If knee stability or futher damage is at all in question, no way he should play.

only way we should ever play on Thursday is
if we travel west to bury Pitt in one of those silly BE timeslots

don't both schools have to agree to the timeslot?
I don’t see PSU (under JoePa at least) ever agreeing to that

We were slated to play UVA on Thursday, September 13, 2001.
Something happened on Tuesday, and we were all a little to preoccupied (and worried) to be playing football on Thursday.

See what happens?
We schedule a Thursday game, and bad things happen.

I'd like to play one Thursday game, just once
so we can go in, set the record for most watched Thursday night football game of all time, get out, and hold the record for 50 years until the next time we play on Thursday.

I'll let you know tomorrow
I’ve got a 9am conference call with UPS to check the status of my package.

Day to Day
Means he could play today, but maybe not tomorrow. However, he could probably play Wednesday, but then probably not Thursday, etc.
And what does etc. mean?

Clearly
We need to switch the game to Friday, because the pattern indicates that he won’t be able to play Saturday.
Day to day
Means we don’t want Iowa to be able to game plan for a complete void at OLB all week long.
I’ve already gone through the “unmitigated panic” stage and I’ve now arived back to “calm but irascible”
However, this post has just delivered a new wave of panic! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Really?
I would have thought you would have preferred that scene in True Lies, where he’s describing some chic he thought was hot and said she’s got ‘an ass like a ten-year old boy!’

NOOOOOOOO!!!!
but considering our backups are still better than most LB corps out there, I’ll just have to have faith, and possibly cheer a little louder on Sat night to help out the defense
I have no doubt it will be very loud in the White House on Saturday
everyone will be WIDE AWAKE after three weeks of horrible noon games (horrible both as in opponent and time of kickoff when I would normally be asleep still). If I still have a voice by the end of the game, I have failed. I WANT REVENGE.
"I WANT REVENGE."
’Tis a dish best served cold, preferably with a side of salsa.
"It was an attrition football game and you know we like that."
or it could be all his plan,
so Iowa goes and plans for no OLB and..then he actually plays and gets 2 ints for TDs

Because it's redundant

Crap
Now it’s being reported that his ankle is dinged up too. Supposedly we’ll hear more at the presser today.

Watching it now
I’d update you but I have a feeling the guys will do that soon. If you follow Eric Thomas on twitter he posts anything important Joe says.

Got my transcripts...
I hope this is just Joe screwing with Kirk… Bowman, maybe. Lee, probably not. Zug, possibly. Sukay, swine flu.
