.....what the kid at Akron did to get booted off the team? Jacquemain I believe is his name. Must have been something pretty rough to get dismissed for the whole season. If it was gambling, he did a TERRIBLE job of throwing the game against us. PSU spread cover FAIL!!!! I could have used a little more effort on his part.

I have NO idea if that was it, but it must have been serious. Just curious to see if anyone had heard anything.

I was wondering that too

I haven’t found any info on it except that he was suspended for a violation of team rules, so it wasn’t anything that involved the school or academics. Also, I think he was suspended for a time in 2007, so maybe it was just the straw that broke the camel’s back.

He actually sold back his books for $$ even though he’s on book scholarship. (Which makes me wonder which bookstore he sold them at because I worked at the B&N on the Akron campus 2007-2008 while in law school there and we always flagged the books we gave to athletes by their barcode.)

I guess the Akron football team has had a bunch of issues with theft over the past years and Jacquemain wasn’t exactly a prince. While I’ve been off campus down in Houston over the past year, I still have friends on the baseball team who have more or less confirmed these rumors through their contacts.

The new AD is trying to crack down on any sort of violations, so I applaud this ejection from the team.

This isn’t the first time I’ve heard of this particular violation. Can anybody tell the class who was recently busted for this before I go find it for myself?
