Why I Love ESPN...
Just heard reporters detailing how Cincinnati has taken a quick lead on Fresno State. One analyst (don’t know who) said, “some think they could run the table,” to which the opposing analyst mentioned, “well, do you think they should go to the NC game if they do?” The response: “Yes I do.”
A quick look through their schedule reveals NOT A SINGLE CURRENTLY RANKED TEAM.
Not saying everyone there at ESPN feels this way, but tell me – how is it that all but a few felt vehemently against PSU, who beat three ranked teams last season (and a rock solid Pac-10 team and a Big East team), potentially heading to the NC game if undefeated, but for Cincy, it’d be perfectly would be perfectly fine, should they run the slate?

I'll say this
I’m pulling for Cincy because I do see them as the Penn State of the Big East. A good team regardless of schedule, but won’t get the real national respect they deserve because of the conference they’re in.
However, it is crap (yet unsurprising) that talking heads would be so free to put them into the MNC but find every/any reason to keep Penn State out.

As keeper of the bet
I would like to clarify a few things. First, the bet assumes UF has already taken up one spot in the MNC game, the bet is void if this does not occur. Secondly, the exact terminology of your bet does not require the Big 12 team to have a loss. If the Big 12 winner is in the MNC game with UF, loss or not, you win. Thirdly, Rambler graciously said that you would be allowed to choose whichever working man’s photshop of his you please for your avatar. It also of course requires Penn State to be undefeated, the bet is also void if this does not occur. I can send you the transcript (word document with the conversation copy/pasted) if you would like.

Against an undefeated Texas and Florida, for instance? Even with a single loss, I’d put Texas in (depending on who to).
It’s not media bias or anything. The statistical rankings will be way down on Penn State too. Maybe we will end up being the second-best team in the country, but a #10-#15 ranked team could run the table on our schedule.

What is up with that punt formation
Can someone enlighten me as to why teams use that formation? It looks like 4 guys on the line and then 2 or 3 guys in front of the punter. It allows the defense a running start at the punter, and every damn punt looks like it’s a hair away from being blocked. I see no advantage to it.

ND has a usually good offense – one that might actually be more limited by Suppa Suppa Offense Genius Coach. Defense doesn’t exist.
