Peter King recognizes Deon Butler
Some well-deserved recognition for Deon Butler, although I wonder how many PSU records a fellow has to own before he has "great stats."

question
should I take him off waivers for my FF? I’m already WR heavy but I don’t have any PSU players…

I know, also torn
I’m in the same exact same boat. Hasselbeck is solid. TJ’s #1, Branch may even get cut. So, it’s between Deion and Nate Burleson for #2 right? I may take him with my last pick.

I'd sit, for now
Unless he has a 10 catch, 150 yards, 2 TD type of first week, nobody is going to be scrambling to pick him up. If he starts to slide into the lineup and is targeted more often, then look to grab him. Otherwise, I doubt people will be searching out his name without production.
I did draft him in one league – last pick in the draft, and it’s a keeper league. Deeper leagues, he’s worth a look late in the draft.
(Speaking totally as a casual fantasy football player, so take it for what it’s worth…)

I always love it when someone "recognize" a person
I just imagine Peter King standing two feet away from Deon Butler.
Peter: “Deon, is that you?”
Deon: “Yep.”
Peter: “Cool.”

Did you read the article?
“He didn’t have great stats in college because Penn State’s obviously not a passing school,‘’ said Tim Ruskell, Seattle’s president of football operations. "But when we did our homework on him, we saw how many times he was open. And in the Rose Bowl against USC, after the game was pretty much out of hand, we saw how he was beating some great defensive backs and then making them miss after the catch. He showed he was more than just a speed guy.’’
Is Ruskell serious? I thought Deon rang up some “great” numbers!

Deon
I actually picked Butler up in the last round of my draft about a month ago, only because I always pick a Nittany Lion with my last pick. I just figured he had the best chance to contribute offensively.
Not surprising that the responses I got were “Who’s Deon Butler?”
