Looking Ahead to Syracuse and Penn State
Hey, PSU fans,
Just an Orange fan and aspiring sports writer passing through. Thought I'd share my preview of the game. Feedback is appreciated. I think I was pretty fair in my thoughts on the Nittany Lions.

Good stuff
It’s well written and provides for a very fair assessment. Finally something to read that talks about the current teams… nothing against the history, but there’s only been a few breakdowns of the upcoming game thus far.
Good job and thanks for sharing.
Nice review
Very nice review. I think you missed a few key points. The Orange will most likely suffer defensively from the same mismatch problems that Akron ran into. You will not be able to stop both the run and the pass but do not have the guns to play ballenced. That will force the Orange D to pick one or the other. That is like choosing your demise and a no win situation for them. On Offence the Orange are going to have trouble running against the PSU line and linebackers. So, it is to the air. If they can stop the pass rush and give their QB some time they may have some success but, unless the game is out of hand they are going to see a lot of pressure from a lot of different directions. Akron did not have any success until the PSU let up on the pressure and played back. Finally, PSU has way more speed in way more positions than the Gophers do. I believe Penn State will speed the game play up and that will translate into errors from the Orange who are not used to playing at that speed.

I was focusing on matchups the Orange had a chance in
So running the ball against PSU’s d-line and linebackers was out of the question. I don’t think we have a chance there.
I agree, we’re going to have trouble keeping up with PSU’s speed. Although, our defense in particular is much, much faster than last year.

Also, it’s not coached by Greg Robinson anymore.
DO YOU HAVE PRIDE, DANNY?

I’m sorry, I think you must have us confused with some other school further to the south…

I’m glad the Orange are turning it around, I’d love to see them compete for their conference championship

No doubt
That’s an easy root. Go Otto, take the Big East.
"For me the game wasn’t grounded in reality. It was about the uniform you put on that turned you into a warrior. It was about the mythology of the battle, the victory, the defeat, the struggle." - Mike Reid, PSU '69
