So we had the 5th highest rated bowl this year (tied w/ the Orange)
Also, 4 of the top 5 and 6 of 10 highest rated games alltime on ESPN have featured PSU.

Here is an article in which three hockey fans try to figure out why the ratings for this years Winter Classic were down. Two out of the three people specifically point to Penn State playing opposite the game.

but I would argue that the Mummers had at least just as much effect on the lower ratings than Penn State if not more
