...I found myself thinking the following:
The current situation!
So Battle is usually great. How do I back this up? Bo Ryan coached him this summer and wishes he had Battle on his team. Oh, yes, and everyone in the Big Ten double teams him.
He made those shots. MSU fans still hate him for it.
But he plays every single minute and he gets double teamed most of the time. His teammates are a combination of "eh" (Babb, Jones, Ott), "inconsistent" (Brooks, Jackson), "freshmen or people who play like freshmen" (Woodyard, Frazier, Edwards, Oliver) and Adam Highberger (no offense).
So this all leads down to the fact that we may not even make the NIT this year.
Cornley, Pringle, and The Irish Assassin were all obviously bigger losses than we anticipated. No one was expecting an NCAA run, but I don't think we expected to feel this frustrated by this season. Hey, that's progress from being unaware of PSU even having a basketball team. Thank you, Big Ten Network!
Talor Battle's brother. Perhaps the highest ranked recruit in Penn State history. Think Battle, but two inches taller and with a different last name. Oh, yeah. Two Battles for the price of one.
Thus, next season's goal is the NCAA tournament. That's what Cornley told Battle to do. We'll have to sit through this oft painful year, but next year will be interesting if for the storylines alone ("DeChellis running out of time!!").
And, yes, I did just make you read through this post so I could say "Wait until next year. Again. And if this doesn't work, I heard Jerry Dunn left Beilein's program at UM."
