Bowman

Not that anyone here is going to be surprised, but Navarro Bowman has told ESPN's Joe Schad that he will turn Pro.

Couldn't see that one coming....

Well, it’s what pretty much all of us expected. It’s a smart thing for him to do. He has his degree, he’s a father, what is really left for him to prove at PSU? I wish him nothing but the best in the NFL. Guess now it’s just a waiting game to see about Royster..

I would have loved to see more

I would have loved to see Bowman more. He battled injuries and some off the field problems but got his head on straight and had a great year. He is leaving with a degree and left it all the field. Can’t really blame him for leaving. Good luck at the next level. Now it’s time for the younger guys to step up and keep the tradition of Linebacker U alive.

Good for him

He did his part.

He kept the tradition of Linebacker U alive, he went to class, he got his degree. He would have been a redshirt senior this year (he redshirted in 2006) so he’s already done 4 years at PSU. I can say farewell with a light heart.

Good luck Navarro in the NFL, rep PSU well!

He does have a son.

Rock hard, Bowman. You’ll be great.

Two words of advice Navarro...

1] Hire somebody you can trust to manage your money; and
2] Get a vasectomy.

Just keep swimin'...

Chafie Fields?

You think Bowman will go the PSU route and sign with Fields…ala DWheels and Deon?

I have a feeling he will sign with a Rosendouche…so he can max the contract…word of advice…don’t do what Maybin did and hold out for 2 months only to get the exact same deal you would have received 2 months earlier.

I never understand why players hold out for the extra $500,000…when it will just be taxed anyway…if you are a player, you will make WAY more money on your second contract.

Big Ten Titles for everyone.

It was my understanding that Arrington would rep him

Though I don’t know if he actually works as a rep or not. The relationship seemed like that’s the way it was heading.

Ummm

I guess I wasn’t clear. When I said hire somebody you can trust to manage your money, what I meant was, “OMFG DON’T FU#$ING HIRE LAVAR FU#$ING ARRINGTON TO MANAGE YOUR MONEY!!!!!”

I apologize for the confusion.

I think Fields

Also reps Levi Brown and Bryant Johnson and a couple of our lower tier NFL guys

Good for him.

He has a family to provide for now, and god forbid he would have a Sam Bradford situation next year and potentially lose millions of dollars… Good luck to Navarro.. I have no doubt that he will be an excellent representative ofthe Nittany Lions in the NFL.

Ditto above

but do wish we could have seen more of him…good teams lose good players early…I’d rather be in that situation.

by DerryPharmer on Jan 5, 2010 8:46 AM EST reply actions

Somewhat concerned

Paterno mentioned Bowman’s fitness not being up to par at times this season. He had some injury problems, but if it’s a chronic issue of not working out, he won’t last long in the NFL.

He’s not going to get any better at PSU, nor is he going to be pushed to get in better shape. Time for him to test the waters.
