Millz....ADMIT YOU WERE WRONG
McNugget is not a D-1 QB. He continues to make BAD throws which have finally have been exploited by OSU! We are actually luckey several more throws were not picked! There is a reason this kid only got offered scholies by I-AA schools. I am not hating btw because I played I-AA ball. BUT....you have to realize where you belong and McNugget does not belong leading the Lions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would have actually felt much better if we lost by the same score with Bolden. We invested in the future and then we quickly bagged on that investment with NW.......not a smart move!

No sacarsm...seriously....
IF……you being sarcastic? McNugget only got it done against inferior D’s. Bolden got pulled way too early last week. NW’s poor pass D hid a lot of bad throws. If you guys can’t see the problems with him throwing 5 and 10 yard outs then you need to reevaluate. He may know the offense better than Bolden….but two pic6’s are inacceptable. We got away from the run too early and failed to observe the warnings that were very obvious with McNugget. There is a reason Herbie and crew were skeptical….if you aren’t….keep drinking that Blue Kool-Aid!
I thought only safeties played 15 yards off the ball! Let's crack some nuts!
I honestly didn't know.
Had you written this at half time, I’d declare you prescient. As it stands, not so much. We all feel like we got punched in the nards. I’m going to watch some It’s Always Sunny reruns – that’s my coping mechanism.

Watch what you want.........I chose not to argue with Millz this week because so many were drinkin from Mr. Koolaid.
Bottom line…Bolden got pulled way too early in NW. Promblem in that game was poor play calling not his execution. Interestingly when McNugget entered hat game…things did not get better till NW went into a prevent before the half. Keep drinken the Sambuca if you think the TD throw before the half was great. Wasn’t a great throw…..rather a great catch on Brackett’s part. I completely expected what transpired today!
I thought only safeties played 15 yards off the ball! Let's crack some nuts!
A) Love Sambuca.
2) Because I know you’re all dying to know, the Sunny didn’t work. I had to break out the hard shit: The O.C. … SEASON TWO!!!

what is unacceptable is....
your abuse of the English language. The bottom line is McGloin seemed to fire up the entire team, unlike Boldin. Everyone seemed to play better. I like Boldin………in two years. I still think McGloin is the answer. It is M c G L O I N, by the way.

Not trying to be a jerk, but.....
It’s “grammar”, not “grammer”.
I have not been a McGloin believer, but I have to admit I finally was there after that 1st half. But the 2nd half brought me back down to earth and reality.
What’s truly amazing to me is that OSU’s amazing run against PSU at Columbus continues. I posted earlier this week how in the last 6 games at Columbus the Buckeyes have returned 4 interceptions for TDs and 2 quarterback fumbles for TDs. Then today they get 2 more pick sixes! That makes 6 pick sixes and 2 qb fumble returns for TDs in the last 7 games at Columbus. That’s over 1 per game and that’s simply unbelievable! It just blows my mind that they continue to get these HUGE breaks while PSU struggles to score at all. It’s truly mind boggling that one team can continually have that kind of luck or whatever against the same team.
I thought maybe the tide had finally turned when Brown scored his TD. Not only was it on a pass, but the DB was going to put a bit of a cheap shot on him in the endzone and he saw it coming and instead lined him up and popped him. I thought to myself, "Finally! Finally somebody for PSU has stood up and basically said ‘F**K YOU!!’ to Ohio State. But it was not to be. It ended up being the same old same old. It’s so doggone depressing/disappointing.
And to think PSU has to play there again next year. Might as well say now the score is already at least 7-0.
Ehhh
I can’ t see any Penn State Quarterback of recent memory make his second career career start in the Horseshoe and have good results. Everything was lacking in the second half plain and simple. Cut the kid a break. He sucked today. But you can’t say the kid isn’t a D-1 QB with the success he had against Michigan and NW. Plus, I’m not convinced Bolden wouldn’t have had the same problems.
Reppin' NFU in the 412
Your excuse for McNuggert are some of the worst competition in D-1
He did suck and I won’t cut him slack. He isn’t a major D-1 player plain and simple. Doesn’t have the arm strength. As for Bolden….his problems would have been related to the fact he is 18 and a recent high school grad….not his ability(this is McNugget’s 3rd year in the PSU program btw)!
I thought only safeties played 15 yards off the ball! Let's crack some nuts!
His 3rd year in the program,
and his second start as a player. Seriously, losing sucks, but let’s not attack our players. I doubt anyone is taking this loss harder than McGloin is.

He doesnt belong starting...this is not a change of opinion on my part!

Hey....
It’s too easy to call for Bolden after this game. Let’s all remember these are college athletes, not NFL players. We have 2 games left, both of which we can win.
Yay beer!
He never should have been yanked at NW...so I will call for him!
I thought only safeties played 15 yards off the ball! Let's crack some nuts!
And if he lost to Indy
a team we have NEVER lost to, would you still call for him!
I don’t care about who “appears” to have more talent, or who was a walk on and who wasn’t. We need someone back there that will finish this season strong and give us hope for next year.

Whatever Rambler....tell me why he should have been yanked at NW.
Or tell me why JoePa should have stuck with McNugget after he came in for two drives and sucked ass?

I dunno.
I guess we won and stuff.

But seriously
The guy is a student-athlete and a former walk on to boot. Moreover, he plays for Penn State. Can we actually call him by his name or at least by a “nice” nickname instead of one meant to somehow demean him?

FWIW - I have no major issues with QB tonight.
My main issues are with the D putting the Offense in a position where everyone knew they were going to throw.
McGloin was lights out in the first half, he didn’t forget how to play in the second. He also didn’t get much help on some dropped balls.
The first pick 6 was just a bad read, it happens all the time. Then there was the fluke double tip in the end zone, looked like a good play then number 12 was in the right place at right time…at that point they were rushing 3 (and getting pressure) and it was over.
Hire Mike Pettine Jr!!!!!!!!
If the Defense could tackle and not get stiff armed, we would have won.
Hire Mike Pettine Jr!!!!!!!!
McGloin gave up 14 to OSU...don't put that on the D
I thought only safeties played 15 yards off the ball! Let's crack some nuts!
The pass in the flat to Suhey was a bad read.
The second pick 6 was forgivable. Lots of pressure, they only rushed 3, and they knew we were in a pass only situation.
All I am saying is lets not bury the kid over 2 throws, what about all the good throws today? I guess they were just luck?
That being said, our guys really need to form tackle better. I am watching pryor stiff arm our LB/DBs and run right past them…then again he is 6’6 240ish
Hire Mike Pettine Jr!!!!!!!!
There were a lot more bad throws than the TD's for touchdowns!
He had a lot of overthrows tonight. He also threw several balls into triple coverage that THANK GOD did not get picked.
I thought only safeties played 15 yards off the ball! Let's crack some nuts!
Correct.
And the long TD pass on the tip was a fluke play. I can’t really blame the D on that one either.
I liked that PSU went for it on 4th down. I was with them on all of them except the one they didn’t convert. I thought it was FG time then. Oh well….it turned out not to matter anyway.
You know what we should do here?
Demean kids and be totally obnoxious. That seems like a ticket to success and happiness.
I’m as upset as anyone (probably moreso, considering I accidentally stumbled into a Buckeye bar during my visit to Boston and had to stay with my friends), but come on, you’re gonna call out a fellow poster AND the kid? He played a GREAT first half. The entire team looked atrocious in the second.
"I don’t spend a lot of time dwelling on the negative. I believe that having a good, peaceful mind is the basic premise for a good life."
I will call out a fellow poster
When he has consistently called out fellow posters praising the attributes of McGloin. As for McGloin himself….he shouldn’t be comparing himself to #4 or engaging in trash with Herbie and crew.
I thought only safeties played 15 yards off the ball! Let's crack some nuts!
mcgloin is garbage!!
he should be kicked of PSU football team and go back to scranton. He is terrible at football. He sucks at qb and should go work at burger king.
Right????
You might be right,
but what what bothers me is the sense I get that you wanted him to fail. Why would you otherwise have referenced Millz and the fact that you “chose” not to argue with him. And McNugget or McNuggert, whatever it is that you’re calling him, is also a nice touch. While I hope you that you didn’t want to write this post, logic as well as your tone (as indicated by how obviously fast you were typing (at least I hope that’s the excuse)) suggests hope fills up a lot quicker than sh*t.
What you want me to address typos?
I will stand by the statement he should neve have started. PSU got a lot of pressure from the the NEPA media on McGloin, McNugget…whatever. If you want me to apologize for calling him McNugget…no way. He gets what he deserves for the #4 comparisons and the trashtalking with gameday. If you are the man…you don’t need to engage in that kind of behavior. I am interested to know if you jumped to the defense of QB14 as quick as you have jumped to the defense of McGloin? That kid received major bashing on this fanboard. The bottem line is we have seen him make questionable throws in EVERY game he has played including both Michigan and NW. Bolden had a quick leash last week…why did McGloin not have a quick leash after the pic6?
I thought only safeties played 15 yards off the ball! Let's crack some nuts!
This spring/summer will be interesting with the QB competition.
And…if someone is hurt we have a backup with experience. 2011/2012 should be very good years

Me too
Millzners was way too far to one side on McGloin, but I agree with the decision to go with McGloin. On the flip, PIC 15 is way too far the other way and is basking in the glory of a guy having a very tough night.
He’s our guy. If he gets too much into himself (which he hasn’t) the staff will sit him. Maybe he’ll sit next week.
I love Bolden (and Jones for that matter). I just think he needs more practice time to learn defenses, etc. He missed two obvious blitzes against NW and the staff just didn’t trust him
Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.
Vince Lombardi
Seriously, way to ignore the whole first half.
That was the best half a PSU quarterback has ever played in the horseshoe. McGloin is our best QB and the statement that we need to put Bolden in because he’s our future and needs experience is BS. McGloin has 1 less year of eligibility. You go with your best quarterback.
Also - he is the first PSU QB to throw a TD there in a long time...but yeah he sucks...come on.
Hire Mike Pettine Jr!!!!!!!!
I don’t necessarily agree with the statement that McGloin is our best QB, but I agree with the sentiment of this post. McGloin is a PSUer and I wish him well and want him to do great any time he plays.
I think Bolden is the better choice going forward, but it’s not an easy decision for the staff to make.
The funny part is...
You probably had this post written as soon as he was named starter in the Michigan game. You just haven’t been able to use it for a few weeks. And now that PSU lost, like all of us expected regardless of who was starting at QB, you get to post it and get your way. (although I have a feeling you would have been the person screaming for Joe to be fired and Jones to be the QB if PSU had gone 4-6 or 5-5 with Bolden at QB)
Congratulations. I’m glad you’re so happy celebrating the Penn State loss. I guess I’ll be like the rest of the fans on here and actually be upset that the team lost, but not jump off the deep end and demean McGloin and rip Millzner.
I completely believe Bolden is the QB of the future, but you have to be totally short sighted to not conceede that McGloin gave this offense some spark and hope that hadn’t been seen all season long. He made bad decisions today and it cost the team. That’s what happens. Name me a QB who hasn’t lost a game or thrown a pick 6. I’ll look forward to your next fanpost with the answer to that.
I completely believe Bolden is the QB of the future, but you have to be totally short sighted to not conceede that McGloin gave this offense some spark and hope that hadn’t been seen all season long.
I was ready to be convinced of this after the first half, but I’m back to not believing it. Our offense being better has been a combo of the RBs and O-line improving and the level of competition. I’m not convinced that McGloin has added a spark beyond that other than not making mistakes (or to put it a different way, I suspect the offense would have the same kind of “spark” the past few games had Bolden been healthy and playing in all of them).
I don’t say that to demean McGloin who I think has done very well with what he’d been given to do. I’m just not convinced that the intangibles assigned to him are real except that, of course, a team will be more enthusiastic when it’s scoring and winning.

We’re all down. Some of us are pissed off. Don’t take it out on your fellow fans. Nothing good comes from that.
I’m just going to shut this thread down before it goes completely in the gutter.
