New commitment
Anthony Alosi-lineman.
What do we know about this dude? Big guy. Lack of offers though. At this point we need to bring in bodies. Offensive lineman should be a priority. Anyone else close to commiting?
Yesterday was bad, but not unexpected. Anyone who thought we had a chance was unrealistic. McGloin is a nice story and has some sort of "spark" as they said 100 times but Bolden should be playing. Why are Gbadyu and Colasanti playing so much? We have better options at both positions. Why were the majority of the defensive starters in on OSU's last drive. There was no reason for that. Get the young guys in there please!

Bani-Stupar-Hodges-Colasanti
Did we have any other healthy LBs to put in the game in the second half? That means at least one of Bani-Colasanti needed to play. And, I think he will be great some day, but Hodges doesn’t look full speed game ready yet. He can’t play every down.

He'll get there.
Despite the final score, I was pretty happy with what I saw. We lost, obviously, but I thought we had potential. The team forced OSU to adjust. That’s much more than I thought they were capable of, and now I’m sorry for doubting them.
I’m really excited for these guys going forward.

Alosi, standing 6 feet, 6 inches and weighing 288 pounds, was offered a chance to enroll at Penn State last year as a preferred walk-on.
But he elected to attend prep school after attracting scholarship offers from just two Division I-AA schools – Monmouth and Wagner.

Wow, that doesn't sound good.
Reminds me somewhat of a couple years ago when they offered that Radakovich kid out of Steubenville who had no other D1 offers. He finally saw the Beaver Stadium turf this year….as a YSU Penguin after transferring there when reality set in and he realized he was in over his head at the D1 level.
Speaking of not sounding good, this sounds REALLY bad and does not help PSU’s image at all. Racist fans surely can’t give recruits a favorable impression.

Well I'm in an interracial relationship
and I have never had a problem about being confronted at The Beav, or at Penn State in general. Maybe I give off the “scary black guy, may snap at any moment” vibe, but I haven’t had any incidents in 5 years in Happy Valley.
Of course, there are still the strange looks and staring, but that comes from both blacks and whites, and not just in Happy Valley. SURPRISE-some people are still small minded in this world.

I've only ever had one race related incident in Happy Valley,
and it did not come from a Penn Stater, so there’s that. That’s horrible and I hope the couple gives Penn State a second chance.

Well....this kind of crap happens everywhere.
And it doesn’t happen much either way (white on black or black on white). But leave it to the Pgh media to do just about anything to perpetuate the myth that Happy Valley is a racist place.
/hopes you don't snap at this comment
But your decision to change your avatar from Stacey Dash to a pair of Jordans is the worst one you’ve made on this blog.
The offensive line was inspired by McGloin.
I don't buy that crap at all.
I’ve been going to games for years, and in mixed company often. Never an issue, never an insult, etc.
They could've just hit the world's worst lottery.
"We have the plainest uniforms you can make. We know who we are. We are Penn State, and that's something special."
Or be looking for a media moment, while at the same time, bringing dirt to the victorious school's name.
I note they are Michigan fans. Of course, they’ll catch a little grief for that.
And leaving early? I suspect a few You Emm fans did that.
But racial insults to an extent that Beaver Stadium was closer to a firehouse-brandishing southern town than a town a mere two hours from where the Civil War turned in the north’s favor?
I just don’t buy any of it.
(Yes, I know central PA is known for its Pennsyltucky/KKK remnants.)
As hesistant as I am to just accuse people of lying,
I agree. It’s hard to believe. I live here and, barring one bad incidence, I’ve been totally fine. The one bit of crap I did catch came at the hands visiting fans.

Wow,
I’m with you…I’m calling them liars. Maybe one person made one comment, but to the extent she’s saying? BS. No way. That simply doesn’t happen.
By the way…for a “southern” city, I have found Houston to be the most diverse and non-racist place I’ve ever been.
