Mark Cuban financing an FBS playoff?
Interesting that he'd rather be in on this than buy a baseball team.

He's been interested in buying a baseball team
on several different occasions now. Just the great Bud Selig has blocked him from doing so. I HATE Bud Selig.

Not exactly true
He bid on the Rangers against Nolan Ryan and his group. Had he won, he’d own the Rangers now. I’m sure Selig prefers Ryan, but the fact that it got to the bidding stage means he would have likely been approved for ownership.
As for him financing this over buying a team, the only one currently for sale (at least publicly) is the Houston Astros, and despite his ties to Texas, he has said he’s not interested.

Well
would you rather own a team like the Cubs who can’t do anything of note, or revolutionize one of the most popular sports in America? And I love how he’s really considering doing this because he read a book about it. I wish I had that kind of money.
Everything looks more important when written in gray italics.
Absolutely agreed.
Must be nice to be able to say, “Hey, I want to do this!” and actually have a shot at it.
Guys like Cuban are good for sports. He’s obnoxious, but he wants to win and he’s willing to put up the cash to make that happen. He’s a great owner, and he’d be a terrific baseball owner as well if they’d let him in the game.

yeah, but he might change the status quo of the Yankees and Red Sox dominating everything
and Bud Selig can’t have that
