Penn State football player Tom Golarz is up for the Rare Disease award in 2010 from Uplifting Athletes.  Tom, a senior, was diagnosed with sclerosing cholangitis, a rare liver disease.  Uplifting Athletes is a program that raises awareness and money for rare diseases, partnering with NCAA schools like Penn State and their Lift For Life program.  You can read more about Tom Golarz here, and vote for him here.  You should also read the other athlete's encouraging stories.
