Bill Edwards also believed to be leaving PSU hoops
By DAVID JONES, The Patriot-News

Dependable AAU sources in Ohio now telling me that freshman 6-5 tweener Bill Edwards is also leaving the Penn State men’s basketball program with the intention of transferring. Edwards iwas used in spot duty and came off the bench often as a seventh or eighth man. Chris Babb’s transfer is confirmed
More later.

Now THIS Concerns me
Especially if Ott leaves as well.
That leaves Brooks, Jackson, Jones, and Marshall if we’re counting Marshall as a forward.

Yeah I guess
There was word of this coming last night
At this point, I’m wondering if Frazier falls under the other couple of players. You’ve gotta think the four seniors are safely here, as if Buie at least for this season to play with his brother. Beyond that, I’m guess everyone is at risk.
Babb was a sustainable loss. Losing Edwards could be catastrophic.

Frazier was not mentioned in the 'other couple of players'
I was told about Babb and Edwards and another guard NOT named Frazier transferring. I’ll let you use your deductive reasoning skills to figure out who this guard I’m referring to is.
Nice work
I don’t have anything left to say. Even without Edwards you could argue Woo…mystery guard may have been able to fill in and play some forward but at this point I have no idea what we’re going to do. If Ott leaves, this is gonna be an unmitigated disaster.

Babb, Ott, Edwards, Oliver(?) and Still Unnamed Guard. Five players leaving the program. They’re going to have to suit up Dan Earl and Lew Preston for practices.

Edwards story has been updated
First, I hope his mom’s okay. Second, it’ll be interesting to get some quotes out of these guys leaving the program.
Edwards said his mother was involved in an auto accident on Friday and he was in the process of trying to get home to Middletown, Ohio, but did confirm he had told coach Ed DeChellis on Friday that he intended to transfer out of the PSU program.
We’ll hopefully have some comment from Edwards later today.
Combined with the loss of Babb, this will make it harder for DeChellis as he tries to dig his program from the wreckage of an 11-20 season.

Not surprising.
I figured that. at best, he’d be probably end up “one and done” by transferring out when his brother left the program anyway. This team was going to be craptacular in 2011-12. Now, there’s a good chance we’ll be craptacular in 2010-11, too. Woohoo!
I’m glad Curley likse the direction of the basketball program. No one else on the planet (with the exception of kool-aid chugging Adam) does.
Good lord I can't write anymore.

To be fair
I’ve been a proponent of getting rid of DeChellis since December.
Edwards and Babb are the not the types of players that could lift us out of the doldrums. They both decent, but they’re role players (7/8/9 guys) at best on good teams, which is why the opportunity to be starters at PSU was appealing to them during the recruiting process.
I'm talking more about Rich Aceto than you
And I agree with that assesment of Edwards and Babb, mostly because I was arguing that losing Babb wasn’t that big a deal last night.
The problem with losing Edwards is that it leaves the 2011 team incredibly starved of forwards. You have the 3 seniors and Sasa. #1 That’s a lot of minutes for 4 guys to play, and #2 if one of them gets injured, you have chaos.
This absolutely destroys what little depth Penn State had at the position.

Hey Kids
If you’re looking for a Penn State fix that doesn’t involve people leaving the basketball team, Dan Vallimont will be wrestling in the 165 lb final on espn in about 5 minutes.
who knows?
he might feel homesick and leave in the middle of the match

haha
That would at least be exciting not sure that’s ever happened before. And the tourney is in omaha who wouldn’t want to leave there.
Oh and it was rumored he was transfering last year. But it turned out to be false and look what happened. Hope that gives you hope.

Nope
Vallimont is our last guy in the tournament.
I'm assuming..

That's correct most coaches/wrestlers have it...
sadly. Cael’s are pretty bad too.
eeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

This intermission is killing me
I’m pacing the room having flashbacks of pacing the room during the orange bowl. Which is weird since most of the orange bowl was an alcohol induced haze.
I paced all 40 overrtimes

I love Iowa football.
Don’t care about their basketball team, but their wrestling team…not so much. Too many people with “We hate you too” shirts.

Well that was disappointing
You can now return to your basketball discussions.
Still a good result for Dan not being an all american last year to come back and get to the final. Penn State will finish either 9th or 10th in the team race. Which is pretty good with all the guys they have sitting out this year.
Won't be surprised if Duke is the last 1 seed standing.
Junny will be insufferable.

I'll put ya down
But seriously, we’ve only offered 3 kids for 2010 beyond Buie, and I’d say we’re not really that close on any of them.

I don’t know dude. Good question. I’m just exhausted. I’ve literally been digging since I woke up this morning.
