A Solution To Our Kick Return Troubles?
Speedy recruit Alex Kenney wins state 60 meter dash title, clocking the fourth fastest time in the US this year. Kenney fell short of Devon Smith, the Penn State freshman who clocked a time of 6.63 last year in Maryland. 60 meters is roughly 65 yards, so put these two in the back on kicks and/or punts, and when they get to the 35, don't blink or you'll miss it.

It's a shame that..
…he didn’t sign with Florida, otherwise that would’ve instantly become a 6.33
Reach out; touch faith.
We have a ton of talent for that position: even Green would be a fantastic return man if given the opportunity.
If Kenney is indeed slotted as a DB, then I think that leans heavily in his favor for punt returns. Joe has always wanted a defensive back to return punts in situations where a fake punt is possible.
More important is how they handle punts inside the 10. I can’t bare to see another fair catch inside the 10.

I found it very promising that Justin Brown was
back for punts in the bowl game. I certainly could live with him. Plus, I don’t see Joe throwing a true freshman back there. But alas, for some reason Astorino will be the “fair catch man” when the punt is deep in our own territory.
I like Justin Brown back there as well
But its nice to know we have some speedy guys coming up through the ranks. Not that speed back there has been a problem recently (see Illinois 2008), but these kinds of guys are always nice to have. Just ask any SEC fan.

Brown was one of the few positives I took from special teams this year
He did well when he was in there.
Junny...
Fast! but does he know how to fair catch ?
Yeah but
The other 9 guys have to block for them. Not stand around watching them or running down the field without laying a hand on anyone.

True.
But it doesn’t hurt to have a guy that can run faster than anyone else in the building. Hopefully some of these up-and-comers will be nasty on S/T so that a Smith or Kenney can get a hole or two.

This
If the guys in front of them aren’t being coached well on what to do, you’ve gonna have four more years of D-Will.
