I know the game is still eons away and we still have a long way to go until we can put a good offensive product on the field, but this match up intrigues me. The big question is, do we have a chance and if so, how do we beat 'em?

Obviously, we would expect both teams to lean heavily on their running game, but unlike Bama's D, ours can't afford to stack the box with a proven QB in McElroy. I looked up his stat line and they seems to be pretty comparable to Clark's and maybe a bit better in some regards, so we know the caliber of the QB we're dealing with. McElroy only seemed to put up one big stinker (completion < 50%) against Mississippi, which I'm sure they won just by running the ball.

I think if we win, it comes down to great defense. The questions, though, are can our DL stuff Ingram and force them to pass? Can our secondary contain Jones (who is a total freak)? McElroy was stacked 18 times, is mobility a concern with him that Bradley and LJ Sr. can exploit?

Offensively, your guess is as good as mine, but I'm betting the success of the offense is going to be whether or not Royster can pick up the tough yards, regardless of the QB. While I don't expect them to be featured, I hope that Zug and Moye have gotten more physical in the off season so they can break off their jams and make some clutch third down plays because our QB is no doubt going to have some early season growing pains.

Though I think we see a lot of classic JVP ball control offense, the punting situation concerns me. I hope the identity of this offense results in a sick rushing attack that isn't some gimmick.
