Penn State to host Mrylnd in Big Ten/ACC Challenge

The Louisville Courier-Journal has leaked the matchups for this year's Challenge. We have drawn M*ryl*nd at the Big Joint.

I fully expect to hear Nittany Nation serenading the Terps' coach with chants of "Sweat Gary, Sweat!" Too bad Greivis "Pepperoni Pizza" Vasquez has moved on. They'd have a field day with him.

The other games are:

Indiana at Boston College
Purdue at Virginia Tech
Michigan State at Duke
Ohio $tate at Florida $tate
North Carolina at Illinois
North Carolina State at Wisconsin
Georgia Tech at Northwestern
Michigan at Clemson
Iowa at Wake Forest
Virginia at Minnesota

See this is what I don't get about our fans

I understand that there is a pretty good chance Maryland is going to kick our ass, but every offseason we sit around and complain that Ed only ever gets games that save his job, games that are no fun to watch and are easy. Now we pick up a game against the ACC title winners (co-winner) and it’s all doom and gloom.

We can’t have it both ways. Personally, I’d rather have Maryland on the schedule to help us out in the long run. In the end losing to a good Maryland team isn’t a bad thing, and it sure as hell beats losing to many other teams.

If only the FB schedule

could do this type of thing…..this year’s home schedule is pathetic….if the season tix are to be raised, and they are, we deserve a better lineup than directional schools and State schools that are not Ohio or Michigan. Rather lose to good schools than playing almost DIVII teams.

When forfeiting Victories, does the Game Played also get forfeited? Eg, does Bobby Bowden’s 510 Games column entry represent the same reduction that his 377 Wins does?

Agreed

If we can manage to pull the upset, that would be phenomenal for our season. And if we lose to them (especially close), it won’t torpedo our season. We’ll see who else we play in the non-con, but vs Maryland and at Virginia Tech are two pretty good games. It’s a start anyway. I, for one, am not complaining about the Terrapins coming to town. Maybe there’ll be some non-con life in the BJC crowd for a change.

Fairfield

isn’t a big name, but they return 2 of their 3 leading scorers and came in 2nd behind Senia last year. There isn’t any reason to think they can’t pick up 20+ wins again this year. It doesn’t have the name rec, but they ought to payback with as many wins as MD
