HS Basketball Star Was Actually 22?!
Totally off-topic, but how do you star in your HS bb team in Florida, than move to West TX and pose as seven years younger to be the star of another HS bb team? Weird.

Years ago
and I believe he was from Altoona, a kid named Ricky Tunstall was a perennial “freshman” for about 3 or 4 college BB programs…..the odd part about his case was that he was a 7-footer…..how could he not be recognized?! he was 18 for about 4 years. Like Blutarsky said, “7 years of college down the drain.”
Is that the kid that played for Kiski Prep around 80-81?

Remember in the 2001 Little League World Series
Danny Almonte pitched a no-hitter then followed up with a perfect game. He was supposed to be 12…he was 14!

In about 2050
That’ll be worth some money.
Don’t do what I did with my Roberto Clemente signed ball….took it out and played with it till the signature was gone.

So you are the basis for "The Sandlot"? That's effing awesome.

I did the same thing with a Kerry Collins signed beer mug
Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face
This example
is quite egregious, but this stuff goes on all the time (as anyone who played AAU sports as a kid can attest). Normally it’s more Danny Almonte type stuff, where a kid might seem older and there are a lot of rumors, but the idea that he’s the right age is at least believeable. I really don’t know how this guy could’ve gotten by people.
No alarms and no surprises please.
When I was a kid...
we were taught to play tough, try to intimidate the opponent. IIn today’s society we might be called bullies. However, I never remember a coach teaching us to intentionally break the rules.

This is nothing new
Anyone from North East Pennsylvania can remember when George Curry was the highschool coach of the Berwick Bulldogs. Ron Powlus was the quarterback at the time.
If I recall there was a 23 year old offensive guard. Along with players that were brought in from across the state, as the coach was getting their family’s jobs at the local power plant.
Long story short. Berwick sucks Hazleton rules
So Berwick Bulldogs = Springfield Isotopes?

Actually yes
As long as you replace players working at the nuclear power plant with parents working there.
This argument has started great fights between the two towns more than once. Yesterday I got into a shouting match over this with someone from Berwick. Neither of us even live in the state anymore – which makes it funny/sad.
And that picture of Ken Griffey Jr with the giant dome piece is what Brian Cushing is going to look like if he keeps taking those roids
That was a sweet prank
But no, they did get rid of the giant penis.
The scuttlebutt is that the school district wants to buy the old Bishop Hafey Building so they could have it for the increasing population and grab the football/soccer field in the process.
Saw an interview with the coach who supposedly took him in
Now, the guy lived with him for a year and the coach said he never questioned his age. He really thought he was of HS age. Don’t you need some proof (guess not in Texas) of your age to enroll in school and HS sports? I guess puttin down a few beers at the local pub didn’t raise any questions?
This story, while intriguing, stinks when you think that there was the head coach, a couple assistants, an AD, a principal, superintendent, etc. None of these people questioned this. Maybe I’m making a big deal out of nothing, but a head or two should roll. I mean, it’s one thing to try to get a kid that is a few months past the max age (I think most places is 19 for HS sports). But 22 years old. Most PSU seniors are 22 or so.
And we think Calipari is crooked?

Didn't OSU have a basketball player that was like 42 years old?
"God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy"
Greg Oden only looked like he was 42
"I did my walk of shame this morning and everyone was so much nicer," she said. "People were inviting me to parties at 9 a.m."
