More insight into how Texas got it done

UT, TAM, and Ok all get to split CU and NU's buyout money amongst themselves, with none going to the other teams in the B12.

...(KU, KSU, ISU, BU, Mizzou) agreed to sign over their share of CU/NU's buyout money to UT/OU/A&M.

This pretty much reveals how the B12 was kept together.  Texas held the other 5 teams hostage.  If Texas leaves, they're all totally screwed and likely end up in a conference w/out a BCS bid.  In order for Texas to stay, they have to agree to a deal that lets Texas basically be independent with a loose conference affiliation.  Brilliant move by Texas and it's cronies (TAM Ok).

At the end of the day Texas is going to bleed that conference dry until the other teams have to move on just to continue funding their athletic departments.  I'm so glad it didn't come to pass that Texas joined the B10, stuff like this just underscores how bad of an idea that would have been.
