Buy your parking passes online
Just as RUTS warned us, the new cost of parking passes bought the day of a Penn State game is going up this fall. After being $20 last year (weren't they $10 just a few years ago? I remember when the were $5) buying them on gameday will set you back $40.
There is a solution though and it will make your life a lot easier if you do it -- buy them in advance for a more reasonable $12 (including service charge). You can apparently get them via the PSU Athletics Ticket Office at (800) NITTANY or e-mail golions@psu.edu. You can also just get them on Ticketmaster, so I assembled direct links to parking passes for each Penn State home game.
Single game tickets also appear to be available.

This is why I don’t get some of the hand-wringing I’ve read/heard about this new policy. There are people out there who seem to think thousands of people are going to drive up gameday and have no idea this is the new policy. It’s 2010 people. Information is everywhere. It’s pretty hard not to be informed about this kind of thing.
for regulars, sure
but what about someone that doesn’t go that often, doesn’t check boards, isn’t on e-mail lists, etc, and decides to go up, buy some tickets from a scalper, and head in. $40 to park would be quite a shock. Also: away fans.

Yeah
Some people will be effected. I just don’t think that many when it’s all said and done. I could be wrong though.

Good Penn State lad, through and through. Probably a good dude to have some pancakes with someday.
Ohio State has the worst fans in the Big Ten. Bar none. And it’s not even close. Humorless in defeat. Condescending in victory. Generally insecure all the time. I’ve partied and had fun with fans of every team in this league, save Ohio State.

i ordered mine today from the Athletics office. Ticketmaster was a rip off. Tried charging me a $5 charge for delievery per pass.

I think people might get caught off guard by this.
I’d have never known if I didn’t read BSD, I don’t have season tickets and usually just buy an single game ticket and roll on into the parking lot.
