As for conference names, these conferences could go with:
The old Pac-10 could now be the "Twelve Pac".
A few that I read that others can lay claim to for the old Big 12 are "Bevo and Pals", "Texas and the Pips", "Texas and the Nine Dwarfs" and lastly, "The Tentative Ten". I like any of them, but I'm kinda partial to "Texahoma and the rest".
Because it has become a significant "Brand Name", I still like "The Big Ten" for The Big Ten. However, If they decide to add two more teams, they should add one from a state that is not in The Big Ten Footprint and one that is. That way they have ten states in the footprint, hence The Big Ten makes sense to those who suffer angst about the name.
