Reminder of some Penn State activities in Birmingham during game weekend.

My last Fan Post closed, so I thought I would repost the information in case there are newer comments.

1) There are still spaces available for the golf tournament beginning at 1:30 pm Central time on Friday, September 10 at the Greystone Country Club. Cost to enter the tournament is $100. They have very limited club rental, so bring your own clubs if you decide to participate. The plan is still to pair two Penn Staters with two Alabama fans for each team.  Let me know if you need details.

2) There will be an Alumni-Association sponsored mixer starting at 7:30 on Friday night at Ivory's Lounge in the Wynfrey Hotel (located in the Riverchase Galleria, 3000 Riverchase Galleria, Hoover, Alabama 35244 just off the I-65 and I-459 interchange). There will be appetizers, a nacho bar, and live band. The PSU Pep band, cheerleaders and Nittany Lion will also make an appearance at this event. We will raffle off a Joe Paterno autographed football at 10 pm. Tickets are $5 each or 6 for $25 (there's also a discount for $100, but I do not remember the amount of tickets you can get for $100).  I encourage you to stop by if you are going to be in Birmingham.

3) The bus that we reserved is now FULL. There will be a caravan of buses leaving the Wynfrey at noon after a brunch that the Wynfrey hotel is having (open to anyone).  If you want to ride with the caravan in your own vehicle, you are welcome to, but I recommend that you leave earlier if you are driving. If you leave anytime after 7 or 8 am from Birmingham it can take you 2-3 hours to get there because of traffic. Parking also gets worse the later in the day you get there.

4) The Alumni Association will have a pep rally at their tent at 3 pm. This tent will be near the hospital and about 1/2 mile from the stadium. I will be on the quad and hope to see you there!
