Powell back to offense
According to Joepa presser. Seems like a case of he knows something the rest of the world doesn't, since they are moving the expected nickel back to #4 wideout (assuming he will not pull a Troy Brown). Personally, I'm not a fan of this move. However, I guess either the Drake injury is worse than expected, the young receivers are not as good as thought, the young secondary guys are really good, or a combination thereof.

Is he back permanently
Or is this a “we might use him for a few plays” type of deal? It seems odd that he was just listed at one of the starting CB spots when the DC was released and now is on the offense (especially after not practicing with them in camp).
He's back practicing with the offense
because Joe said they needed some guys that can make big plays with Green hurt (apparently Green is hurt). He did mention that if one of the corners went down, he would be right back to defense.
Yeah, Morris is just as capable of starting.
I’m glad Chaz is a team guy. Providing depth everywhere it is needed. Justin King did this same thing pretty well as a frosh so I think Chaz can handle it.

I don't get it....
We’ve got guys like Dukes and Redd that can supplant Green’s duties…granted, they may not have the same exact skill set.

In regards to big plays was his meaning
not the rb position. However, we certainly still have a bunch of decent WR’s, but like I said, I think there is information missing here.
Maybe Powell is bi-curious...
and will play both ways.
If he was going to see a lot of time at Nickel, that’s usually not a 4-down position, depending on the team you’r’e playing.
His speed makes him a deep threat, but then again, his speed and size match up well against opposing WR’s.
/very confused.
We learned some other good stuff too.
Jones was not doing well academically, and Ollie Ogbu and Brett Brackett are the captains. Good stuff. But the best is this quote
A young football team reminds him of the D-Day Invasion at Normandy. Some young officers led the soldiers out of danger and up the beach.Which I got from Scout free site. Clearly Joepa reads BSD.
Time is a great teacher, but unfortunately it kills all its pupils
Wiz isn't a captain?
Seriously? Didn’t see that coming. Ogbu and Brackett seem to be good guys, though.
Confused
I thought he was starting CB on a recent depth chart . . . .
He was, but my guess is that Morris was not far behind at all.
To be honest I always suspected this to happen though.

this isn't a huge surprise for me
Powell was too good a receiver to just leave him out of the rotation completely.
Justin King filled this role (#1 DB, #3 or #4 WR) quite well for 3 years. I think Powell could do the same.

Was he though?
Outside of the bomb against Iowa I don’t remember him doing anything all that impressive. This is a weird move.

It was my understanding
that he was one of the fastest WRs last year…so it’ll be nice to have him on offense to stretch the field. Hopefully he can have some nice runbacks on KR duty.

He was
I doubt they would pull him from “D” if they really felt they needed him there. I think the “D” is gonna be fine. I also think that they want the best possible chance of having a decent passing game going in to ’Bama since the secondary there is the weak point. With their big pass rusher in trouble with NCAA and maybe not playing, and with a weak secondary, we stand a chance if the passing game is as strong as we can make it.
