LOL'ing at this...
Some people may call this classic Michigan Arrogance, but I don’t know of any school that can go through what we have the last 2 seasons and still get these kinds of offers for marquee games.
RR ’s offense will be a machine by then and the defense will (finally) have some experienced depth.
Im so pumped

No they call us punks.
Bama fans aren’t known for being the most stable, but some have respectful things to say about Michigan. If you ask me, the guys at BSD are a bunch of punks.
yeah
usc fans.

I honestly don’t get why Michigan would do this. The amount of money much be a metric assload to get them to go with only 6 homes games that season. And even though Bama ain’t exactly next door, they will almost certainly have a decided advantage in terms of fans over the Wolverines. It just seems like an odd situation for UM to agree to.
because pretty much every major school
has an interest in recruiting Texas
plus, you know, money

Does simply playing a game in Texas really get you that much in the way of recruiting?
I’m honestly asking, as I hear this argument brought up a lot.

well
playing in the Georgia Dome was enough of an advantage for Alabama and Clemson that it got under the skin of UGA’s coaches – but when Alabama and Clemson pull a kid from Georgia is it because they played a game in the state or is it because they’re from the states of Alabama and South Carolina and if they weren’t recruiting that area they’d be morons?
Pretty much every school has got an eye on Texas and the belief is that playing a big game like this in state can help you get on the inside track with some of the local kids. It’s not too much a stretch of the imagination to think that a prospect in Texas is going to be impressed when your program plays another major program where the Dallas Cowboys go to work.
regardless of whether or not the theory holds true – big neutral field match ups on prime time TV will help you recruit pretty much any kid.

not to mention
if you are the designated home team i believe the rules are pretty much the same as to having recruits go to a game on campus. you get a few texas recruits your gameday experience without running into the hassles of an on-campus visit.

We snagged....
…Greg McElroy away from Texas Tech after beating them in the Cotton Bowl. Sure, it’s anecdotal, but it worked out pretty well for us.

I'm going to regret this when he throws for 250 and two tds against us...but
Alabama snagged a ham sandwich away from Texas Tech? That’s impressive!

A ham sandwich that doesn't lose
1986 anyone?
No, not 1986.
1986 cannot be compared to anyone or anything, especially someone or something from the omg greatest and most hyped conference ever.
Plus I wasn’t being serious.

Some dude
Walkin around down souf with two Belles on his arm, wearin a championship ring and lookin like this

He’s also one of PSU’s opponents this year and last year he only threw 4 interceptions in 14 games without a loss. No sir, I don’t like him.

Ohio State has the worst fans in the Big Ten. Bar none. And it’s not even close. Humorless in defeat. Condescending in victory. Generally insecure all the time. I’ve partied and had fun with fans of every team in this league, save Ohio State.
It was a joke.

Please climb back in your wheelhouse and stick to volume and ambiguous seriousness. You don’t wear the real stuff well.

Free Press says not so fast
Or at least they quote people who do. Also, this:
As previous athletic director Bill Martin’s tenure progressed, Michigan stopped taking road trips to BCS-conference schools, except Notre Dame, even in home-and-home situations. Martin always talked about a neutral site game against a major opponent, or a service academy, but it never came to pass. His rationale was that it only would have made sense to give up a prospective home game to put a game in a heavy U-M alumni base. Otherwise, keeping a home gate at Michigan Stadium, the nation’s biggest, would be too much to pass on.
After a series of West Coast losses early in the 2000s, to Oregon, Washington and UCLA, Michigan backed off West Coast trips as well.
if they're backing off trips because of losses
that sure will limit where they can go in the near future

They'll never play Appalachian State again...
Or Oregon, for that matter.

With the continuous improvement of MaizeNBrew Dave’s work, mgo should get the Tyson treatment and continue to fade into Bolivian.
Love the title, tho, rambler.

THIS.
Dave is an actual person, and a good one at that. Brian Cook is a psychopath. An occasionally funny psychopath but crazy all the same.
Less memorable than Sam Okey's Hawkeye career.

The negotiations begin
It certainly marks a major change in attitude about voluntarily playing known “cheaters”. Perhaps we’ll agree to skip a practice if they’ll agree to hold out 25 (oversigned) players.

Wow, the two teams I hate the most playing each other,
I just won’t know what do with myself. I may explode from all the hatred if I watch that game.
For the glory
indeed we are, the process accounts for everything.
