They got into the division with both Nebraska and Minnesota; they didn’t get screwed. Wisconsin is the team who should complain.

even if it wasnt the previous weeks rematch there are what like 40% rematch conference championship games. It must have happened before.

You admit the schedule is too limited for a proper determination. You are ok with being able to have a two game series tied, and have one team with a worse conference record that could be conference champion?

But in this reality—where the teams playing tells me the rematch probability is so low and unlikely, I’ll take that chance over the far more likely chance of ties.

Interesting that the schedules don’t simply flip flop from 2011 to 2012 — opponents are in different weeks.
I’m surprised and a bit annoyed that we are going to Ohio State – again – in 2011. I know it happens sometimes.
So, the 2011 home slate is a little weaker with trading Wisconsin and Ohio St for Nebraska. But with Bama, Iowa and Nebraska on there it still looks good and will sell tix for STEP. But 2012 is far better, now with tOSU and Wisconsin.
I see we get screwed
by having to go to Columbus 2 years in a row.
And so we land, only to find

To be the best
beat the best. If PSU has a legit contender next year, there will be no question as to whether the team earned its ranking. Even with one loss that schedule might be sufficient to make some noise.

Interesting that we play Nebraska and Wisconsin both from the other division….I was expecting each team to play one high-level team and one low-level team from the other division. Not stack the deck like giving us two teams like Nebraska and Wiscy. But it makes life interesting, so let’s do it. We seem to have made out like bandits.

Eh, with Nebraska as a fixed game, we’re very likely to play either Iowa or Michigan as a second cross-division game. And, yes, I know Michigan sucks right now – but in 2012?

Right. My point was complaining about getting two “good” cross division teams in 2011-12. Well, Nebraska is always going to be there and my point was there was a good chance to get one of Iowa and Michigan as well. And UM is probably going to be okay at least by 2011 and especially 2012. So, my point was that this isn’t a conspiracy, but a likelihood to have two good teams from the other division. Plus Wisc/tOSU from our own.

best to play the toughest games on the schedule near the end of the season.
The only part that is slightly disappointing is the back-to-back road dates with OSU. But, I view that as Karma for the STEP debacle.

No, getting f’ed by them would have being put into a westernish division. We didn’t. Splitting up tOSU and UM is a good thing for PSU.
Michigan and Ohio State are the only schools that got EXACTLY what they wanted. Seems fair.

Believe what you want to believe but the fan bases of the teams certainly preferred to be in the same division. And most were happy to send PSU “out west” to accommodate that.
The fanbases had nothing to do with this decision.

I'm not either and I am watching it, unless...
there’s ONE particular element of the division decision that didn’t go the way they thought it should. like osu-mich being split up being a huge reason for rage, or some other single issue. overall right now i dont see a massive problem.
