The 2012 home schedule is a zillion times better now. Ohio St and Wisconsin at home is nice.

No 1-AA teams incidentally.

Although 2011 is going to be extremely tough

I’m not a fan of giving tOSU two home games in a row, especially in a year when we should be pretty good.

No (annual) Governor’s Victory Bell either.

Love to see us start a trophy game with Wisconsin, if we are permanently playing them to end the season.

by Laaaaazzz on Sep 1, 2010 7:23 PM EDT reply actions

I would not love this.

Wisconsin is not Indiana. I would not like to give them anything, even a badly designed trophy.

That's not a series you want to have QB issues through, trust me...

I think Ohio State gets sort of screwed. They have to come to Madison in back-to-back seasons. That isn’t even close to fair, given the last BS TD and horrific, 14esque INT finale game in Madison.

Without club-handed Jaevery McFadden and a necessary timeout, Pryor does NOT reach the endzone. Sort of like how, without extra time due to injury, Michigan does NOT beat Penn State in 05.

The various schools of the Big Ten should let Ohio State and Michigan know in no uncertain terms that dissent will NOT be tolerated.

THEY get screwed?

We have to play in Columbus 2 years in a row.

You won the last time you went.

Keep it going…

Sure...

with the side effect that sometimes your QB takes life-threatening injuries?

Why would MRob EVER want to go back? Answer: he wouldn’t.

And I felt nothing but sympathy for him afterwards. Unlike Ike…

My hatred of Michigan knows no bounds. Even more so after this travesty.

How are

we playing @ OSU 2 years in a row? Is that because of Nebraska getting added in?

by wxguy519 on Sep 1, 2010 7:25 PM EDT reply actions

Yes

All Big 10 schedules went out the door once Nebraska signed on

by psuquinn on Sep 1, 2010 7:26 PM EDT up reply actions

Purdue

had to come and play here 2 years in a row a couple years ago.

@collegiatestdms

by JGuiher on Sep 1, 2010 7:28 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah

Indiana had to come to the Beav 2 years in a row (08, 09)

by wxguy519 on Sep 1, 2010 7:31 PM EDT up reply actions

And we are “visiting” Indiana in 2010 and 2011. Why is no one upset about that?

by Laaaaazzz on Sep 1, 2010 9:40 PM EDT up reply actions

Indiana sold a "home game" to Dan Snyder.

It might be a home game against a team they’ve NEVER beaten, but still…

People are upset about that

They’re names are Michigan and Ohio State.

They can both suck it.

by dawsonPSU10 on Sep 1, 2010 10:32 PM EDT up reply actions

Ah

Well that sucks. Ah well, Nebraska is at home…but yeah that is a tough slate to end the year.

by wxguy519 on Sep 1, 2010 7:27 PM EDT reply actions

Upside

If PSU is legit, we have 5 top teams to beat (Bama, Iowa, Neb, Wisky, OSU). Given the strength of that schedule, we could still lose a game and make noise in the BCS. Losing 2 is probably trouble as we won’t get out of the division. Bottom line is we must beat OSU on the road.

I love it when you guys manage to come out of Columbus with a W.

It’s a feeling like no other, isn’t it? Yeah.

No one wins in Columbus

They barely win. Or so I’m told.

I definitely like that there will be no more shared championships with OSU (or anyone else). I can only assume head to head will be the divisional tiebreaker, so no repeats of 2005 or 2008 with OSU getting a piece of the title on a technicality.

by gcdyersb on Sep 1, 2010 10:36 PM EDT up reply actions

Partly true.

Also awesome is stomping Nebraska at home.

by BurrowesBldg on Sep 1, 2010 11:52 PM EDT up reply actions

Iowa State beat Nebraska at home.

It was more of a Nebraska EPIC FAIL than an Iowa State smashing though. Gotta give that Cyclone defense some credit, they held Minnesota to 13 points. They’re not even close to Penn State’s league (Minnesota scored 0 points).

I was talking about the 40-7 stomping in 2002.

That I attended. And in doing so, helped to set the attendance record.

Looking back:

would you swap that OT loss to Michigan with the win over Wisconsin? Or the OT loss to Iowa?

My memory may be failing me here,

but I don’t remember the OT loss to Michigan. I DO remember the OT loss to Iowa and I get hives anytime Penn State goes into overtime. I would probably switch them, though, given my hatred for Michigan is much worse than my hatred for Wisconsin. The only things I have to hold against Wisconsin are the injury to JoePa and the douchea moves of your coach when they changed the clock rules for kickoffs and he sent the team offsides TWICE to run the clock down and keep the ball out of Penn State’s hands.

The officials hated Tony Johnson that day too.

In fact, the officials were almost certainly bought off given the horrible calls that went in Michigan’s favor that day. They didn’t even try.
