Lost in all the talk of the Penn State Alabama this week is that the Volleyball team has two huge games this weekend. Tonight they take on 4th ranked Florida. Florida is ranked 4th but they already have 3 wins against top 15 teams including a win against formerly 2nd ranked Nebraska. This will be a huge test for a young team especially since the match is in Florida.
After that they take on either Texas or Stanford. This will be by far the toughest test they've had early in the season since their loss to Stanford in 2007. Which is coincidentally the last time they lost. There's a good chance the streak could come to the end this weekend. As the team is still searching for the right combinations of players to put on the floor. And the veteran players are still trying to get in sync with the new server which it looks like will be Kristen Carpenter.
Even if the team gets through this challenge there are other tough match ups waiting. Illinois is currently ranked 3rd and will provide Penn State the toughest fight for the Big Ten crown they've had in awhile. The Big Ten has several other solid teams that could trip up Penn State if they have a down night, similar to the scare against Michigan last year. It all gets started tonight at 730 unfortunately Espn and the Big Ten failed to feel the need to pick up what should be an awesome match up. But you can follow the free game tracker on gopsusports.com
