I am writing this as a response to the Alabama fan who wrote a thank you to all the Penn State fans for a wonderful weekend. I am returning the favor.
Although I was not a the game, my friends who went said it was a great weekend despite the loss. Everyone was friendly and it made for the perfect football saturday. This is what college football is all about. Sometimes it goes beyond winning and losing. Two of the greatest fanbases in all of sports got together for a once-in-awhile type of occasion.
The game itself was hard-hitting and competitive, the way it should be. The game was fair and clean, the way it should be. The fans were respectful on both sides, the way it should be. And both teams displayed excellent sportsmanship throughout the entire game. That is how is should be.
Even though our beloved Nittany Lions came away with the "L", I did not feel like the game was a loss. I hope the series continues in the future (I really want to go see a PSU-Bama game in Bryant-Denny), and best of luck to the Tide the rest of the season.
I am looking forward to the game next year in Happy Valley. Games like this just do not happen much anymore. Its going to be fun next year, asI am counting down the days. Bama fans, feel free to stop by my tailgate next year for a Yuengling and a burger. Roll Tide Roll and Fight on State!!
