To my friends at BSD
Sorry I didn't get back to some of you yesterday. I was a little tied up in T-Town. What a day and what an experience. I met many PSU fans and they were all really very cool and very spirited. I thought that Bolden looked good and he has a bright future. I read a post from Saturday morning and someone said that "I was a second string poster at Roll Bama Roll but I could start for 95% of the other blogs." That was a good one. Anyway I'm sure that was a comment about my posts about Trent Richardson. I don't think I need to say much else about that. I enjoyed chatting with you guys and I'll be back next year and good luck with your season. I hope you all win the rest of them. Good luck!

Thanks for checking in MM.
From my perspective, I still think your team is better with both Ingram and Richardson is in the lineup. To that end, I hope Ingram gets healthy as you head into conference play so Bama is at 100%.
We look forward to the game next year, and good luck to you too.
We are going to need Mark down the stretch
There is no question we are better with both of them but TR showed the nation what we already knew in the Tide nation. Anyway ,don’t want to belabor the point. I really enjoyed interacting with the PSU fans at my hotel and like I said they were all class acts. Got to know a little about the PSU traditions. Again, Good luck to the Nittany Lions the rest of the way. I really believe you guys have a special player in Bolden.

Thanks,
we will see you next year (and, unfortunately, we will have to see Richardson then too).

I take a wait and see attitude
If we had been over on RBR saying Bolden was going to play better than an average freshman in his 1st road start at #1 (2 INTs and some zippy throws instead of 5 INTs and arm punts into quadruple coverage), you’d have been skeptical too. I’m a believer in Richardson now, but his most famous highlight previously was running untouched into a the endzone. That doesn’t really say much other than he is fast and obviously a big man.
I still think your OL was the biggest factor. McElroy was real comfortable and most of the time Richardson was at full speed before anyone got near him. Of course, his spins, jukes and cuts added yardage at every turn. We’ll see if Ingram is benched when he comes back in favor of Richardson as you predict. I doubt it, but stranger things have happened. Richardson has Adrian Peterson-like skills and punishment applied to defenders.
please point out the post
where said or even implied that Ingram would be “benched”. When he is healthy and back to 100% Ingram will will start and TR will come off the bench. However, as the plan has been all along the two will split the carries. My point all along was that we will be OK until Ingram gets back because as I said ad nauseum, there is no drop off when Richardson is in the game. He is not a “back up” at Alabama. He is a very important part of our offense. Think Ronnie Brown and Cadilac Williams….Felix Jones and Darren McFadden….Reggie Bush and Lyndell White….anyway…good luck the rest of the way.

"Richardson is better than Ingram"
It’s been said by Bama fans, you in particular. If that’s true, then he should start or be 1a instead of 1b.
I get the comparisons, but none of those players you listed has been dominant in the pros. Sure, some have had 1000 yard seasons. They just haven’t been elite RBs for multiple seasons. NFL talent, definitely, but benefited from each other and good OLs in college. As long as Richardson doesn’t get beat down too badly, he should be a monster pro. I think what you have is more like Emmit Smith and Adrian Peterson—better than those combos perhaps.
all right this is like talking to a dining room table
I would think that after TR getting almost 200 yards of total offense against a very fine defense you would at least say that it is debatable as to how the two stack up. I’ll put it to you this way….TR is the best back that you guys will face all year. Time to move on. My case was rested on Saturday night.

This is fine
I don’t think any B-10 backs have his combo of skills. But I suspect your OL will also be one of the best if not the best we face this year. I never thought the loss of Ingram was a big deal for you guys given the quality upfront. TR’s talent was just icing on the cake of Bama dominating the LOS.
The fact you have two quailty rbs like that is amazing and scary. You guys will be a force this year.
There will be no battle fatigue in my command
