Ishaq Williams, another star who seemed set to come to Penn State, is going to Notre Dame.
He has informed the coaches of his decision. Someone didn't pick us at the end of the season. Almost seems like a repeat episode of your favorite TV show that you always seem to catch.
This is only more puzzling because the news yesterday.
Now, he said, the plan is to visit Penn State Friday and Saturday with his father, Shaun, and make a decision on Sunday when he returns home. Of course, if he chooses Penn State, the early enrollee could remain there as he will bring a week’s worth of clothes just in case.
“As soon as I take the official, I’ll have everything on the table concerning each school,” said Williams, who led Lincoln to its first city title game appearance in 17 years this fall. “That will make my decision easier.”
Williams was originally scheduled to commit last Saturday, during the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas, but delayed his decision because “I just wasn’t comfortable how the setup was and I wasn’t comfortable making the decision there.”
He had made up his mind the morning of the game, but after speaking with his “team” -- his father, Shaun Williams; mother; Anastasia Lewis; Lincoln coach Shawn O’Connor; and a few close family friends – reevaluated his thinking. Shaun Williams said the decision would be based on the school’s quality of education, the strength of its alumni network and the stability of the coaching situation.
“I don’t know how it’s going to happen or when it’s going to happen, I'll just know,” Williams said previously.
Well, we had 2 out of 3, and the only reason we can say ND's coaching situation is better is because he was just hired.
What makes it worse is Darian Cooper may have had his spot taken by someone who isn't coming here. The mystery DT who supposedly took his spot is still unannounced.
But all is not lost as we have a few kids coming soon who may commit as a group. More than likely we would never go back to Cooper and say, "What up homie, you know we were kidding about that phone call right? Right?"
