Ciphering the Future
Did some quick calculations on PSU's first seven games. Results......PSU Offense is average......that is, PSU scores what the opponent has given up, on average for the seven games. PSU holds opponents to 18 points below average. Taking this forward, PSU beats NW by 21, Nois by 6, Huskers by 9, Buckeyes by 12, and takes a beating from the Badgers.

A 10-2 Regular season
I will take that. Unless Wisconsin is exposed this weekend from an actual defense, then that last game can be atleast a bit more interesting.
I can understand and sort of see the Illinois, Nebraska, and OSU scores
But I don’t think we’re going to “lay the smack down” on NW by 21…
Probably not.
But it’s actually probably fairly possible. Northwestern is very potent on offense, true, but they’re still a generally mediocre at best football team with a bad defense. And I honestly believe a lot of their scoring against Iowa could disappear against our defense because, frankly, Norm Parker got outcoached and constantly had linebackers on wide receivers and plays of that nature.

Reasonable enough.

Interesting way of looking at it.
The Northwestern numbers are skewed because they started the season without Persa. Likewise the Wisconsin numbers are skewed because they’ve played a comically soft schedule so far (131st, according to Sagarin). But it’s interesting to look at how well the numbers line up in the games we’ve played so far.

Speaking of that schedule
Why is it that the media excoriated Penn State’s OOC schedule a few years ago – not just local media, but even the national media – Used it to argue that Penn State didn’t deserve its ranking, at the time. Yet, I haven’t heard the same outcry about Wisconsin’s OOC this season.
It's funny because it's Pitt
They are also winning every game by 45 points
Yeah, I get it. Our plan is to show up with our fantastic defense and let the chips fall where they may.
I think people are complaining but we just don’t notice as much because it’s not Penn State. In listening to Bill King and Finebaum (I don’t know why I don’t turn him off), I’ve been hearing mostly that if they go undefeated due to their schedule (weak OOC and weak Big Ten) they will need at least 2 of LSU, Alabama and Oklahoma to have a shot at a NC. And most SEC fans would tell you a 1 loss LSU and Alabama team should still get in over an undefeated Wisconsin team because they haven’t beaten anybody.
wishful thinking
I am going to be Johnny Raincloud for a moment, but it is serious wishful thinking that we’ll beat NW, Illinois, Nebraska and OSU. A realistic good outcome will be taking 2 of those games, and ending the season with a competitive against the “we run up the score and no one cares” badgers.
