First things first -- the most obvious and repeated complaint. Why do I hate Penn State? I don't. Actually, they're the team with the highest upside looking at their remaining slate. If they continue take care of their business, expect them to leap up meteorically. It would be nice if Penn State operated with a greater margin for error, but this year they prefer to live dangerously. Heading into the meat of the schedule, starting with schizophrenic Illinois, is when those close wins will count more. The Big East gives up the ghost as West Virginia drops out after their debacle at Syracuse. Georgia Tech, Auburn and Washington all follow the Mountaineers through the exit. The bloodletting will continue with the other games of note this week: Clemson visits Georgia Tech, Stanford travels to the Coliseum for USC, Oklahoma State hosts Baylor, and Michigan State hopes to avoid a hangover at Nebraska.
