The way Joe Paterno was terminated, there is no in-between. Either he should be ashamed of us, or us of him. If he was not willfully, egregiously silent on the matter after having McQueary talk to the people required to handle it properly, then we have just destroyed Paterno's legacy for ever, with no justifiable cause. None. Those callous actions meant that all of the innumerable positives Joe has bestowed upon this University, this State, and this Country were wiped out. And that much good will can only be wiped out in that manner if Joe Paterno is a monster.
We cannot have the statue of a monster outside of Beaver Stadium. If Joe Paterno turns out not to be the monster the media has made him out to be, and the BoT implicitly confirmed him to be - we do not did not live up to his legacy and do not deserve to be associated with it.
The way Joe Paterno's career was ended, there is no in between.
