Yes, self-righteous ESPN, we get it. Sexually assaulting children is morally reprehensible. As though we already didn't know that.
The fans didn't do this. The students didn't do this. The players didn't do this.
A bunch of corrupt, self serving fools did this. And most of them have been fired. The rest soon will be.
A bunch of kids got angry that they saw someone they respected take what they perceived to be the fall for this scandal. Apparently having an opinion about who is to blame and how the situation was handled is somehow synonymous with "we support the commission of abhorrent felonies." I support the kids' ability and right to think and speak for themselves. Even if it is civilly disobedient. If you were on campus being subjected to this non-stop immolation of your institution, you might very well feel similarly.
We get it. This was awful. It's being handled. We can't give these kids their lives back. We can't undo what's been done. But it isn't on us to do that. We didn't cause this problem. And I'm tired of feeling obligated to apologize for somebody else's sins.
