I plan on buying more Nike and Pepsi now.
Pepsi on Wednesday said it will remain a sponsor of the school and its football team. "We are very concerned about the current allegations surrounding certain individuals at Penn State University, but will continue to honor our longstanding relationship,"
"Nike said Thursday it has no current plans to change the name of the Joe Paterno Child Development Center, a building at the company's headquarters in Beaverton, Ore."

Yeah, I really think I'm starting to run outrage at this point.
...may we compete with fierce intensity, with the gifts that we have been given...
I seem to have a sinusoidal shift from rage to sadness and back again
I'm on the Internet cause I'm an Internet thug.

Like I said in other threads
Do you think cars.com has such a defined and passionate moral code as a corporation that they decided to distance themselves from Penn State?
or
Do you think cars.com saw the economic value in being the first to drop advertisements during Penn State games, issue a press release, and get hundreds of headlines for free instead of paying for advertising during two 3.5 hour Saturday afternoon games?

I thought pepsi backed out?
Glad they decided to stay.

Boo!
Pepsi > Coke!
Plus they did a bunch of charity stuff where I grew up :)
this board is about to get divided real fast.
So now we know what it takes to divide the fanbase:
- criminal accusations and the moral accusations of those nearby
- losing games
- Pepsi vs Coke

What if I like Dr. Pepper?
Am I okay as long as I don’t drink it at parties under highway overpasses?
I’ll tell you why. Because we’re talking about Joe Freaking Paterno here.

Joe Paterno Center
located on Nike’s World Headquarters Campus in Beaverton, Oregon. Currently Nike’s Child Development Centers are providing exceptional full time, on-site care for 200 children aged six weeks to five years in our Joe Paterno Center.
which line of apparel do they make there?
I keed, I keed.

Tremendously ignorant.
Since the press exposure of labor conditions overseas for Nike workers, they have had some of the best labor practices of any corporate with non-domestic production facilities. Paying wages significantly higher than market conditions in those areas require, providing better facilities and benefits, and ensuring that children are not exploited.
But hey, you would actually have to look into that rather than read a single article at one point in time and make a judgment for the rest of your life.

'significantly higher than market conditions'
This is what people just don’t get. Sure Nike may have been paying people three dollars a day, but I fail to see how that’s a problem when that three dollars is five times what most people in Indonesia, Thailand, or several other countries are making. People seem to think that since they’re making a high-end consumer product that they need to be making an American wage right now, without realizing that the wage structure of the United States developed over a period of 200+ years.
