Big Ten Bloggers Pick'em & Thursday Night Football Open Thread: Week 12

Crank that Hokie boy!! (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)

The end of the season is quickly approaching and there are precious few weeks left to make a move in the Big Ten Bloggers Pick'em.  Your prognosticators didn't have such a great week (except me, HA!) but BSD did go 4-2.  This week presents a few challenges so anything's possible.  As always though, we have an open thread for the Thursday night game.  Lots of sports tonight Pittsburgh and Philly take the ice tonight, the NFL is on and we have North Carolina and #8 Virginia Tech tonight at 8:00 PM on ESPN.   Stats and pics after the jump...

Star-divide

Everyone missed Ohio State's flub against Purdue and some of us were not too high on Penn State given all of the... unpleasantness of last week.  I picked Nebraska and was so sure Penn State was going to come into the game unfocused that I bet against them.  Thanks to the 3-point spread, I lost.  Lesson learned.  Move along...

I am the champions... my friends!!!  Hay, I have to gloat while I'm ahead.

This week's games

Sat 11/19/2011 Iowa @ Purdue
West Lafayette, Ind. BTN 12:00 PM ET

Sat 11/19/2011 Wisconsin @ Illinois Champaign, Ill. ESPN2 12:00 PM ET
Sat 11/19/2011 Penn State @ Ohio State Columbus, Ohio ABC (ESPN) 3:30 PM ET

Sparty is on a collision coarse with the inaugural B1G championship and Illinois is about to get bludgeoned to death. Nebraska - Michigan is a toss up and is Minnesota still playing for anything?  I lost money on Penn State last week, I won't make the same mistake this week.  They impressed me with the ability to stay focused even in  horrible conditions.

The Picks

PeterJeffMikeKyleBenTimGalenBSD
Michigan State Michigan State Michigan State Michigan State Michigan State Michigan State Michigan State Michigan State
Iowa Purdue IOWA Iowa Purdue Iowa Iowa Iowa
Northwestern Northwestern Northwestern Minnesota Northwestern Northwestern Northwestern Northwestern
Michigan Michigan Michigan Nebraska Michigan Michigan Nebraska Michigan
Wisconsin Wisconsin Wisconsin Wisconsin Wisconsin Wisconsin Wisconsin Wisconsin
Ohio State Ohio State Ohio State Penn State Ohio State Penn State Penn State Ohio State

The team is split on the OSU-PSU game and amazingly bully on Michigan.  Everyone likes Wisconsin and Northwestern (except Kyle) so not much will change in the standings.

Check back in for the open thread tonight at 8:00.

6 out of the 8

go for both Michigan and Ohio State? Not saying it’s impossible, but it certainly defies the computers

GO IOWA AWESOME, now and forever, unless PSU sees them in the B1G CG
Beat Ohio State.

We should just assume
