Every week when we're playing an opponent I like to take a look at that team's boards and news sites to see where they are at. I like to see what kind of injuries or concerns they have, and get a general feel of how they are looking toward the game.
Well, after the jump I'll show you what I found at the Badger's Blog.
I'm really hoping that this isnt the general consensus on how Wisconsin's fans are looking at it... but I can see when your coach is Bret Bielema you would jump on any possible thing to make your coach not appear as such a ... well... Bret Bielema.
Of course, Amaechi was maybe the least compassionate person toward Paterno and considering he was a basketball player, probably didnt know Joe too well.
The site he grabs the interview from has no problem blasting Joe either and the comment at the end of the guy's post I thought was pretty tasteless considering today's players have absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the scandal.
When I was covering the Big Ten, Penn State basketball player John Amaechi was one of my favorite players to interview. He was smart and always had something interesting to say.
When I moved on to cover the Bucks, Amaechi was one of my favorite NBA players to interview for the same reasons.
Now, Amaechi has spoken his mind on Joe Paterno.
Read and watch and see if you don't agree with the headline.
I bring this up, of course, because the Badgers are playing for a chance to win the trophy from which Paterno's name was erased. I'm not crazy that they're playing Penn State on Saturday for the right to represent one of those divisions in the first Big Ten championship game, but what can you do?
